i love coldplay because of every song they have i love. and also their a lot etter than a lot if not all of the bands out there(fall out boy etc) but i would love to hear more harder rock stuff and just a little less piano. i hate to say this but i want to see coldplay think a little out side the box this next album. i cant wait!

i didn't think they did at all until we got certain songs on X&Y. i think speed of sound is reminiscent of clocks, low and white shadows are similar, what if and X&Y are similar, till kingdom come and green eyes a little bit...but this doesn't make me like them less in the slightest! i just hope they improve on some of the things that they did on X&Y even though i love that album.

lots of my friends say their songs sound the same, but i think they're crazy. then again, i can think of several well-respected bands that i think all their songs sound the same. i mean, i like that one song or whatever, but i just have a hard time getting into them. it just depends what you like, i guess.

i also want to hear a deeper voice side of chris thats what ive been hearing. and are they collaberating with timbaland?

Hopefully because I like Timbaland. But I'd rather it be on a single/B-Side than the actual album because his sound could change the feel.

Neither the band nor anyone else ever confirmed that timbaland would be collaborating. I can't think of why they would want to work with him anyway, especially when they have Eno on board. And if you read any recent reports, it only mentions Eno and Markus Dravs as producers.

I think some of their songs sound similar, but the closest they get to self plagerism is with Speed Of Sound and Clocks. But even then, they are totally different in terms of mood and lyrics. Songs like White Shadows, Low and Square one all sound quite similar, but I think thats just the production, the the use of similar synths and guitar in them. The songs themselves? Completely different.

I'm hoping VLV will break the mould a bit, and I think it will, but it really is inevitable that bands begin to repeat themsleves a bit later on in their carrer. Unless you're Radiohead of course, and manage to bang out 7 albums each with their own sound a feel (bar maybe Kid A & Amnesiac).

Timbaland did not produce any of the songs. This hasn't been confirmed since early last year and is only considered a rumour that he wanted to work with them.

The only 2 ppl who produced the album along with the band are Brian Eno and Markus Dravs. I sincerely do not hope that Timabaland produced their album, to be honest.

Zemy I'm 90% sure the Timbaland said in an interview that he would be working with Coldplay.
I remember reading that too, but what I'm saying is that it hasn't been mentioned since then by any other sources. I seem to remember in an interview with Guy last year, he was asked if Timbaland was collaborating, and he only mentioned working with Eno in his answer. But, I guess we'll only know for sure once the albums out. If he is involved, then I hope it is a minimal amount of involvement.

But I still think its merely a rumour, nothing more.

Coldplay is one of the most diverse bands out there, there albums are very different from each other, if I heard violet hill on the radio today I'd probably only know it was coldplay when chris started singing.

People only say that because they've only ever heard clocks and speed of sound.
