How to find a name from a cell number?

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to find someone's name from their cell number? I keep getting pranked, and it's from someone I know but i don't have their number and all the websites I see that offer this, look shady and want money.

never mind, i just called my contact who works at verizon and he thinks he'll get me all the info on the phone number.

the best way to find out is probably that mobile phone provider/operator (whatever you call it). They usually can't give you information just like that, but in case pranking they do. You just need to have all the info about when this person called you and any SMS if they sent you.

o rly?

cool, ill remember that

but what if you dont know their network provider?

In the U.K. there is a service where if you call your mobile phone operator, you can get them to "bar" unwanted numbers from being able to contact you, either via SMS or phone. If the barred number tries to contact you, they get rejected.

But the problem of tracking down names to numbers is that you can buy a Sim (or even pick up a free SIM) and never have to register it to your name.
