^if they do then they're big fat jerks, because they didn't pay anything for them and will be making 100% profit. i figure some will be, though, yeah. for me that's only a last resort, but really if i'm going to pay for it, i might as well just go to the MSG or other CT concert on their regular tour, one that not so many people ar vying to get into as much.

I would pay for those if i know i won't be able to attend another show, but if i have to i will. i'm not missing them on this tour.

yeahh, i'm getting worried that if i can't see them at this free show, that i won't be able to really see them at all this summer save for the today show. that is, unless they're playing amsterdam on a weekend in july, or if they're doing london on august 2 or 3, or if they do their CT and/or NYC dates on the tour after august4! :dance:

I'm going to do all in my power to make it to the NYC show. It's scary to think that it's been...literally just over two years since their last official show in the US (which I was at!). Definitely want to be at their first one back, too.

 

And it's free? Maybe I'll have to do MSG AND Today Show...wow, that'd be a heck of a Coldplay week.

i'm definitely doing the today show, and MSG providing i can get tickets, which i'm doubtful about, but ohmygod, seeing them twice in a week?! i thought i was lucky to see them twice in a YEAR...

 

i think for the free shows, they might just do a run-through of the entire album, wheras when their offical tour gets kicked off, they'll change it up with parachutes, AROBTTH, and X&Y songs thrown in the mix.

is the today show the thursday after... orr what day of the week?

friday, june 27. starts at 7AM, but we've got to be there at like 4 if we want to see anything.

Thanks, I'm hoping it works out so that actual fans can be in attendance rather than random people that got tickets. I shouldn't lose too much money either way. I'm staying at a friend's hotel and have people there to take me around :)

Whatever it is I'm defiantly trying my hardest to get NYC tickets. Already planned out the road trip with a few friends this morning. ANyone else from Canada considering doing the trip down for it?

i don't know, i just have a feeling that it's going to be just like buying tickets for any concert except that you don't put in a credit-card number at the end. i think it would be odd to have a raffle with 20,000 winners, really. if it was like 100, then fine, but 20,000? that's a lot. might as well leave it to the masses to fight it out, that's what i think they'll do.

I'm really hoping it's like that, it might actually be possible for me to drive up from Virginia to go to it, but I wouldn't do it if I didn't definitely have a ticket.

 

I may end up just waiting for the full tour and pay for it, because like someone else said above me, this'll probably just be a runthrough of the album, and I'd rather hear a variety since I've never seen them live before.

When X&Y released they had that show at Koko and they played both old and new songs, so they may throw in some old stuff as well.

After hearing Violet Hill I vow to be at the MSG gig, no matter what I have to do to get there :)
