I'm not pointing fingers or fault-finding, just posting a few things that are starting to get to me, and as I'm about to point out to others, I know if they bother me, I don't need to deal with them...that's why we have an 'ignore' feature.:)

 

If we don't like threads where people are having a debate about something, do we need to post in them? Some of us enjoy it, others don't. Why waste your breath on those threads if they annoy you?

 

There have been literally dozens of new threads in the past 48 hours, so I think people have an excuse if they miss a news or ask for repeats of info. I'm seeing them getting jumped on, and it makes me sad since we're usually such a friendly bunch.. Nobody's perfect!

 

I agree we don't need multiple negative threads, but some people are going to dislike VH and other songs, and they're just as entitled to post as the people who love the songs.

 

ANd as for name-calling, I'm not a Mod, but I still feel entitled to say we should all know better.

 

And if you happen to be a new member reading this...please, please, please...post links in the appropriate section. If you're registered, you know what I'm talking about.;) (MM)

 

It's a public forum full of human beings who make mistakes and who don't always agree on everything...even Coldplay. It just looks from where I'm sitting like we're getting really upitty, and I wanted to get it off my chest without seeming bitchy. I would however like to point out that Mr Ian, whom is so kind as to give us all a home, must not be too thrilled with all the multiple threads eating all the bandwidth. The mods need to get in there and moderate. All duplicate threads will be deleted situation.

A few things on my chest :sneaky:

It's hard to all co-exist on a massive forum and get on all the time though, there's such a massive range of personalities and whilst some, like yourself, like things to remain calm, others thrive on debate. And people will tend to get to jump on others if they don't like an opinion, again is just the way it is.

 

I agree if someone really bothers you ignore them, that's what it's there for. I implemented it today actually and it helped muchly.

 

There's always going to be one or two people who come here solely to wind others up though and they will always succeed, which is when things start to get bitchy. Is just human nature.

 

The amount of time spent on here today won't have helped matters though...I might take a week long break :P

I totally get where you are coming from Tracie. This board is a refuge for me so to come here and find people either bashing or just outright name calling makes me sad. I don't want to come here and argue. I want to talk with people that I think of as friends who have the same great love for this band as I do.

 

When people love something and feel as passionately as we all do about Coldplay, it feels like someone is trash talking your mother or something. Something in me feels like I have to defend the boys even though I know nothing good will come of it.

 

The real problem I have is not with people having differing opinions about the new music or old music or Chris's haircut or whatever...its the people who are ALWAYS RIGHT...they never see anyone elses side to ANYTHING...after awhile it gets old and irritating and makes me want to leave...

 

I am wishing I had done what Texasluvsjonny had done and stayed away today:(

Hehe, I did a load of when/where/how threads yesterday, because it was getting a little silly. I did leave most of them today though, just because it was impossible and also as you said with new people finding their way and stuff seemed appropriate to just let everyone get on with it.

 

Hopefully it'll all die down in the next few days and most of the threads will exhaust themselves...only to start again when the album comes out :D:P

That's the right attitude, Angie. I do read some of those threads out of curiosity, but I don't get pissy if I dont' agree with them.

 

I'm one of those people who loves debating, but I know the difference between debating and arguing...a good distinction to make when dealing with fallible human beings like myself,lol.

 

Like I said, I didn't make the thread to whine, just to get it off my mind in a healthy way instead of snapping at someone in another thread. Things can't be 100% calm here or anywhere, but we're pretty lucky to have the great group of people we have here.:D

yea i mean im pretty much a noob as well but... im really fed up with all the new threads made by people who havejust joined like... this week. it hurts my head trying to sort through them all! i waited for this day for so long but for some reason theres just been like... a bad vibe on here all day. idk it's weird.
