Erm... well my life would be more boring than it already is :laugh3:

probably I would never have started playing the guitar and than... my days would be gray ad rainy.. but luckly they exist!:D

Without Coldplay, I don't even think I'd be alive.

I would not love the bands I do today. I'd probably just be like every other kid and listen to Top 40 music.

And of course, I wouldn't have the friends I do now, ones that I met through Coldplaying. And without you guys, life would suck.

ahhh, well i don't know what i would have done with all the free time i would have spent away from coldplaying! probably would have been massively bored and would have taken up some crap hobby. eh, probably not. ANYWAY, my point is, if there was no coldplay, there would be no coldplaying, and, well...i wouldn't have met all the amazing people that are on here, and i would think i was so much more of a freak for being so in love with a band. at the very least, i've found people that get me, and at the very most i've made some amazing friends.

but as for coldplay itself...i think my musical tastes would be in a very different direction without them. i don't know if it would be an embarrassing one, like in a fall out boy sort of vein or whatever, but before i found coldplay i only listened to the beatles and music made before 1975 or so, minus U2 and the strokes. i figure i would have continued on down that line and stayed a bit of a hippie rather than growing into having a more comprehensive music taste. without coldplay, i would probably think pretty much all current music is worthless crap, and that's most definitely not true. i'm glad they opened my eyes to that.

and i found soooo many bands through this forum, most notably radiohead. i wouldn't be as into half the things i am now without this place, and that would be a major shame.

and coldplay have just made me so indescribably happy. i don't think i would have been miserable without them, but i just don't think anything else can fill the hole that would be there. music's never made me feel the way coldplay's has. well, the beatles produce a feeling that's pretty similar in intensity, but it's inherently different. i relate more to the things that coldplay sing about, i feel like they get me more. i don't think that's a feeling you can trade for anything.

i remember the day, the minute that i fell in love with coldplay. i'm very grateful that my mom left the TV tuned to VH1 that day, and that the VJs decided to play "speed of sound" the exact moment i was walking through the room to get to the bathroom, because without that moment, who knows what would have happened to me?!

^Yeah, this forum would be one of the worst things to have never existed. I love it here, and thank God for Coldplay!!!

People wouldn't incessantly ask me if I was depressed, and I would be revising for my A levels right now instead of this... :smug:

Famous Old Painters

(The greatest song that's never been heard)

what do you mean by that hav you heard it!????

No I haven't heard it. I just knew from the ways it was described by Prospekt (Spanish theme, big band instrumentalists from New York) that it would be my favorite song on the album. Unfortunately, it didn't make it on the album...

Oh, well, I'm still hoping it's on there but named "Viva La Vida"!!!

Without Coldplay my high school life would have been ten times harder. Listening to that music helped me get through really stressful experiences.

I was first exposed to Coldplay when I was visiting my grandma's house right after Yellow got big... I never heard the song until then because we didn't have cable TV at my house and I didn't care about music much at that point. But I was flipping around the channels at her house when I hit MTV playing the Yellow video, and I stopped there a minute to watch it. At first I thought he was Scottish, but what grabbed me and kept me listening was the incredible guitar... unlike other guitar I'd heard, this was just so "friendly" sounding. That nearly brought me to tears.

So anyway, I forgot about the song up until my friend told me about this great band he found called Coldplay in 2002, when AROBTTH was new. So I downloaded the CD (I'm bad) and listened to it the whole way through... I'd never experienced anything like that because there wasn't a single bad song on the whole disk. Then I found Parachutes and I knew this was the band for me!

this thread is :stunned:

for sure, my exams results will be different :p

i have more time to concentrate on that!!! :D

Just think of all the free time we'd have and how we could have used it if not for this forum, lol. Instead of posting on here, I could have organized some kind of CD for charity or something...er...wait...I did!! All because of Coldplay. And it wouldn't exist without them.:D:D:D

(I started out to make a joke post, but it's actually true. That CD likely wouldn't exist without them, and it's one of the things I'm most proud of...Aw, thanks, Coldplay!:))

i spent 2 hours a day for this forum (at least)

this forum is really ADDICTIVE...

When I met Chris, I thought to myself, "Gee, what a nice young lad - he must be in some new band, just getting good at their craft" - which, little did I know then, they had already had some very impressive songs out (but I was out of touch with music at the time, and telepathy is not all that effective, so how was I to know?)

You met Chris! Story please? :D

.

if coldplay didn't exist i wouldve been a dumb person who wouldn't understand anything and would have turned out to be some emo gothic kid or some gangster but thanks to coldplay iam a sweet charming young man. : )

Wow, there's a pretty hard question. I've already asked myself this and I never got an answer. I don't know but, for me, Coldplay has always envolved dreams. I think I would be a ''less dreamer'' person. And their music has always been like medicine, so I guess I would be more instrospective and would have a different vision of the world. Because their music makes me see what's around me in a brighter way, a more optimistic view. I don't think I would like Radiohead or Regina Spektor or Los Hermanos, a brazilian band, because actually I started to like them because of Coldplay. I believe I wouldn't like music actually. How sad is that? :stunned: My english would be pretty worse and I wouldn't know some wonderful people from here. That's strange. Life would be pretty different, that's obvious. Anyway, is there a postcoldplay life? :P

This sounds completely pathetic, but if Coldplay never existed....

I probably would've never got together with my boyfriend! Yup, Coldplay totally brought us together, since our first heated conversation that stimulated my senses was about Coldplay and their fabulous music and my lust for Chris Martin, lol!

Yeah, my boyfriend was the first ever guy in my country who I met, who is as nearly as big a fan of Coldplay as I am. Hahah! :)

I still believe if Radiohead did a OK Computer 2 instead of Kid A back in 2000, then coldplay wouldn't be as popular as they are today.

Could be true. There was a bit of wiggle room for Coldplay that year that RH might have snapped up with another OK, Computer.

I don't even know if I'd be in the band I'm in if not for them. That's hard to explain, and somewhat personal, but I'd not have moved forward without them.

I just can't even wrap my head around this question. Coldplay's music has brought so much, well, life, into my life that I'm not sure who I'd be today if their music wasn't around...

and I wouldn't have met so many wonderful people on this board!;)
