laveryd
I'll take bets on this - my gut tells me it means they'll have a full orchestral arrangement behind them when they are on tour... I've thought some of their songs of the last two albums could have worked with this really well.... Now you have the song Viva La Vida that you almost can't perform live without an orchestral arrangement of some kind....
ApproximatelyInfinite
maybe a stadium tour? have we had one of those? haha, yeah, we've definitely had a stadium tour :D i'm INSANELY curious about the stage show. i just PRAY that they're not going to do NY and CT until mid august, or that i can get free tickets to MSG in june. because i'm going to be crushed if i can't see them on this tour. like real tears crushed. because it sounds legendary. other than awesomely painted instruments and the new french-revolutionish costumes, i don't know what to think! blackchickintheback
Hopefully they'll continue this generosity and make ticket prices cheaper. I plan on getting a job over the summer, but flipping burgers might not cut it. :P Im thinking MASSIVE, man! The works! Lasers, orchestra, cirque du soleil people flying over the crowd and fancy smansy costumes. :P
Texasluvsjonny
Unless Live Nation have managed to invent and build a "time machine" (you must picture Dr Evil making quote marks with fingers when time machine is said :P ) it would have to be a different tour now wouldn't it.
TraceOddity
lol. Normally that might be a Captain Obvious moment, but in this case, irony. No 2 tours are alike, but I think it's maybe the approach i.e. marketing etc. that might change. (I'm not explaining what I mean...4 hours sleep, lol) I think the band has said in the past that they'd like to keep the ticket prices lower, but it's hard with an arena rock show. before you even get to the band's personal costs y9u have to deal with the venue, the promoter, the advertising (not all on the label's tab) and so many other facets that even though Coldplay are grossing around $700,000/gig the costs add up. I just hope this isn't Guy Hands's 'This band brought to you by Viagra' concept!:P

Texasluvsjonny
I'd say 'Let me introduce you to the poster-boy'...but I doubt he needs it,lol! Yes but can we use this pic for the poster because (a) I can see some nipple and (b) there is a shadow on the pants leg that may or may not be something naughty. And does it matter if he doesn't need it, I make him take it anyway for my own personal amusement. :sneaky:

psychedelic_punk
Lol, back on topic, I was thinking the same when it comes to the whole lasers and cirque du soleil thing, I was thinking Muse with their massive Wembley show & the HAARP DVD that came out after that, but that's not world-reaching i suppose, although it had screenings in Sydney, so thats international at least... But I kind of hope it's not a stadium tour as such, coz I live in WA (australia) and my nearest city is Perth, and I dont think there's stadiums in perth (build one NOW QUICK!!! Screw those 30-year facelift plans Perth!!!!!:D), and I was thinking about Muse, good lads, who are still kind enough to play "small" venues. I just saw Muse at Supreme Court Gardens in Nov, and that was just freaking awesome, (not to mention my first ever Muse gig, and first rock show) but I was mostly happy that they werent "too big" for a small outdoor venue, and havent been "too big" for festivals either. I wouldnt accuse Coldplay of being big-for-boots, but I dont think a band should ever be "too big" to play "smaller" towns and smaller venues. Theyre just a band after all, yknow? That said, brilliant and world-reaching for me would mean big shows w. lasers and the works (that roadie in disney-land you were talking about made it sound like that), world-tour (incl. Australia naturally;)), and trying to include smaller gigs. C'mon, guys, if Muse can do it....!

I would love if they did smaller gigs to, on smaller venues, but I think the ticketpressure wouldn't allow that...

Plug_in_coldplaying
I'm guessing that Coldplay have talent and can actually sing and play where as Madonna has to have dancers and bells and whistles to distract from her talentlessness. nice one!
