clockpolitiks
http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/806431/?search_redirect=coldplay&tm_link=tm_header_search Very strange. There is a best buy presale, pop tarts presale (lol wtf?), and a local radio presale for the Hartford and DC concerts. More to follow I'm sure. Also some info on how the stage is set up- 270 DEGREE END STAGE CONCERT WITH NO A AND B ROWS LARGER FLOOR Could this mean general admission floor? Montreal
270 degree means 3/4 of a circle (like u2 concert)
clockpolitiks
I'm trying to find out about the best buy and pop tarts presales, but I'm not finding anything. I am a reward zone member at best buy, but I havent recieved an email about this. I have no clue. If these are the only presales, that sucks. Lol, well the U2 concert I went to was 360 degrees. Yea, I'm pretty sure the Talk tour in 2006 was 270 degrees as well. No bigee. I'm not sure what No A and B rows means.

BostonSportsTD
ugh it would be better if these presales were through coldplay.com so they would actually give the REAL fans an advantage.

BuckleThis
Just speculating, but i think that Ticketmaster may have accidentally copied code showing the Poptarts presale from another Hartford show, the American Idol tour (gag). That is the only music show that i have ever seen Poptarts involved with and the times and dates of the presales match that of American Idol. Not sure about the AEG/venue presale. I usually get mailings from the venue on presales and have not heard anything.
EnglishSilk
OK PEEPS! COLDPLAY PRESALE WILL BE THROUGH TICKETMASTER, WHICH HAS JOINED UP WITH "BEST BUY" STORES... PRESALE CODES COME FROM BEST BUY REWARDZONE... CHECK OUT ON BESTBUY.COM
IneedYou23
it says you have to be a reward zone member from at least may 1st!! I just did mine the other day!!So weak!!And you can only get 2 tickets with the presale.
Collee
Bummer! :-( And I agree with BostonSportsTD, it would have been so much better if the presale had been through the coldplay official site. it says you have to be a reward zone member from at least may 1st!! I just did mine the other day!!So weak!!And you can only get 2 tickets with the presale.
clockpolitiks
Not trying to brag but, lucky for me I have been a reward zone member so if Orlando tickets are gonna be sold this way, I should be able to get 2 tickets with the presale! Sorry to those who don't have reward zone. It is a very strange way to do a presale. Not very fair to fans.
tigermilk
i am very disappointed about the lack of presale to fans...to talk about 'make trade fair' so much and then not to bother making ticket distribution fair to fans, smacks of double standards. its even worse that best buy shoppers get first pick! It all boils down to profit. I suppose it's a good aggressive way to try to target a younger demographic to get to buying more CD's and from Best Buy rather than buying MP3's through iTunes or other avenues. That's what a good part of this is promotion is about. I think I could argue on either side. Sound quality on MP3's are crap but it's not like CD's are putting out much better sound quality these days, either. However, to do a pre-sale this way, has the potential to alienate some fans, and I suppose some of you may making a face from the bitter taste this may put in your mouth. In the end, I don't know how much of a say Coldplay has in this which is not to say they don't, but I would be purely speculating.
x_FixYou_x
Don't feel upset if you aren't a Best Buy shopper, because the ticket prices are absolutely ridiculous and I think there should be an explanation as to why they are so high. I'm sorry, I don't care if you are Cher, Paul McCartney, The Police, Michael Jackson, whatever...no band or artist is worth almost 100.00 a ticket. I went to see Linkin Park who are one of the highest selling artists of the 21st century (even more than Coldplay I believe, although I love Coldplay) along with other big acts: My Chemical Romance, Placebo, HIM, and Taking Back Sunday (and a slew of other bands on a second stage), and for all those bands, and a show that lasted nearly 10 hours, we only had to pay I believe around 45.00 and we got far more music, and far more bang for our buck. Oh, and I had pit/floor as well! Now I have to pay 97.00 to get floor at Wachovia, for a concert that might not even last 4 hours? No thanks. I'll pass until Coldplay or their management learn that not everyone has 217.00 to throw around on two tickets. There's this thing called the ruined American economy. Hyphin
I really this this presale stuff is...dumb.. Best Buy? Pop Tarts? For some reason, I doubt Coldplay has anything to do with this. I absolutely CAN'T believe that there are no emails sent out regarding a Coldplay.com presale yet. That's...like....we are the REAL fans. Not Best Buy RewardZone members. Ive been on that mailing list since it's existed. I think. I'm still hoping this presale gets it's act together.

Hyphin
Hey Fix You, I am wondering where you got your ticket price information. Apparently, Coldplay are keeping the prices down for this concert. The highest price is SUPPOSED to be 80 bucks. That's what I've read anyways. HOWEVER. I do like, four, google searches a day for tickets in my city, to see whats going on, and there are some sites, like, stubhub.com and coasttocoasttickets.com that are selling tickets, really bad ones that I dont even want, for like, more than 200 dollars. I don't get it. Does anybody? I mean, are these tickets REAL. Because recently, they have put some floor tickets up, I think the best is row 19, and they cost 450 per ticket. Are these tickets real? Why do they cost so much? Why do these sites HAVE these tickets? Are they going to keep getting better and better tickets and none of the fans are going to be able to get the good ones when the time comes? This whole business is very frustrating. u2rob
I can confirm that the tickets in the Philly pre-sale this morning were $97.50 for floor and lower level, and upper level was $77.50 - this, of course, was without the extra convenience charge ($11.50 per ticket, I think), plus $3.50 venue charge, plus the (utterly absurd) $3.50 charge for mailing you the tickets! :veryangry2: I think/hope that there will be cheaper tickets in the regular on-sale. Probably in the upper rows/corners of the upper level...

I know, it's sickening.

These tickets are real!! Most venues have sponsors, part of the sponsorship is you get tickets. Also, staff at venues get tickets and certain venues you can pay to get tickets for every event. So yes there are tickets already sold. The MGM Grand in Las Vegas is the worse...of the 13,000 tickets some 3,000 are comps from the casino, 1,000 are promoters and they hold back another 1,000 or so for other stuff...so it is nearly 40% sold out already. The high prices are $100 plus fees, so nearer $120! This is actually better than when they played Hard Rock and tickets were $150 plus $30. They might not know about the Best Buy thing but the management do and they take orders from the band. The BestBuy promotion won't appeal to a younger demographic-you have to be over 18 to have a account! And BestBuy is not a store with a young demographic-their demographic is middle class, suburban males who buy big screen TVs, bib ticket items. Just go in your local Best Buy and you see who they cater for. As for CDs, well they stock a very mainstream selection that is typically $15-you get a better, cheaper selection at Wall-Mart and Target. If this is the fan base who coldplay values more then I am not sure I want to see them anymore.
