mqrun45
Were we at the same concert??? I read the Washington Post Review from the Sunday Evening show, and while I know it was mostly positive, I couldn't quite believe we were at the same show. Coldplay was out of its mind, crazy over the top outrageous!!!!! We were sitting in section 1 row F (and when the rows started at C we were in the fourth row on the aisle where the band came down the catwalk). The crowd was electric...I've been to several U2 concerts, and this crowd was SO into the music...everyone up standing, singing every word to every song. I don't know if U2 fans even know the words to every song. The band was engaging, all personable and a connection with the audience unparalleled. Since I've seen the band live now for the 5th time, I think they just get better with time. They are so seasoned now at performing live, they have it down to a science. I think they are simply being themselves, comfortable in their own shoes, and it shows. I have to get my daughter and her friends to post their pictures because they are amazing. I joked that on the drive back to NY we should stop in Philly and catch them again, and if anyone took me up on it I would have done. They simply bring happiness to their fans, and the butterfly effect was simply amazing.

Merwithani
Source: http://www.flickr.com/photos/waqar/ Of all the concert videos I've seen in the last few weeks, I'd have to say that these are some of the best -- they're clear, the color is vivid, great sound. KissesBirds
You're so lucky that you've actually met them! I would do anything to meet Guy & Jonny! And for your question about Jon coming down Guy's ramp... I don't think he did. In fact, they all went to the ramps (both of them) as a group, but that was it. Yes, I was extremely lucky! We had awesome Coldplay karma those 2 days. Thanks for your answer to my question.:D What people say is right: they really are the nicest, most generous guys. . busybeeburns
Verizon Center in D.C. Coldplay: I know it ain’t cool, but I like them. Coldplay recently played the Verizon Center in D.C. and is due to return again for another show on Halloween. While I know it’s not exactly “cool” to admit, I think Coldplay is pretty good. Coldplay’s stock in hip circles has plummeted considerably since Chris Martin’s nuptials to Gwyneth Paltrow. The same sort of thing happened to Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum when he was shacked up with Winona Ryder. Nonetheless, before and after Martin married Paltrow and started naming his kids after still life fruit and sea parting Charlton Heston roles, Coldplay was, and still is, a solid group of musicians. Coldplay’s latest release Viva La Vida, although a bit depressing, is a good listen. Martin gives the falsetto a break and delivers some decent performances in his lower register. The songs are dynamic and original. Despite the constant U2 comparisons, I believe Coldplay stands on its own as an original band. However, Coldplay has employed former U2 producer, Brian Eno for this effort, reminiscent of U2’s Unforgettable Fire CD released in the mid 1980’s. I seem to recall Eno over producing that album, making it difficult for U2 to duplicate the album’s sound live. I hope Coldplay doesn’t fall into the same trap. I am particularly found of the tracks “Cemeteries of London” and “42.” “Violet Hill”, which has received a majority of the CD’s commercial airplay, is also a solid tune. Viva La Vida is definitely not a toe tapper. It is actually best enjoyed in dim lighting. I often use it to accompany my afternoon nap. I do wake up refreshed, so I guess that’s saying something. I’m just not sure what. http://www.examiner.com
xneverwherex
the reviews are incredible. my friend and i were supposed to see them in July, but as it got cancelled that didnt happen. she ended up giving her tix to a friend who told us a week later - it was an incredible show. We were both in chicago and nearly cried when we realized coldplay would be on the stage. i think at that point i was dancing my ass off to mark ronson which made it a bit better. now being near broke - we're trying to find a way for halloween to happen. maybe some money god will find me and send me some. LOL Love the pics and vids! cant wait for NJ.
