good luck on your band project, :nice: i will be very interested in listen your band. :)

i've been thinking seriously to follow my dreams since this summer, but i have to 'close' my present in less than a year for that, but hey i really feel like this is my year, i will make it be, i don't mind if i will succed or not but at least i'll try it, although i know that i have many dreams but them are complementary and so refreshing one from the other.

again, thanks for your words people.

btw answering to the thread question... i am not, i hardly ever said that word, because i always tried to enterntain myself in some activity, althought it may seemed useless or meaningless, i enjoyed them and i've learn from them, but yes is a bit bad that life sometimes is so slow, and sometimes it makes me think to change things almost completely.

I just finished uni for the summer. I was looking forward to exams being over for so long and now that they are over, I am so bored and have nothing to do. Arghhh. Frustrating.

i am in the same situation as well, i miss uni

Great thread, Jeff!:)

I 'deal' with depression, so I often think I'm bored, but life itself is never boring. Hell, daily survival is interesting, even though it's frustrating. I think we're too easily bored nowadays. When you can have anything you want all at once (i.e. the internet) it can almost seem too easy, lol.

I agree. With all the possibilities nowadays, I can't believe that anyone could ever be "bored". I never have time to do all the things I would like to.

Maybe the problem is more one of lack of satisfaction??

If you have certain expectations, I can at least understand that.

That's why I always say it is unwise to have too many expectations, as if they can't be fulfilled you are likely to end up on a "downer".

Yep. It's why I made the thread about waiting for an album instead of having half if it online before it comes out. I love the fact that we can have all this great stuff at our fingertips, but without having goals and things we HAVE to wait for, we percieve a false boredom. (My attention span has gone WAY down since I started my life online, lol.)

It is of course true that people are far too impatient for things nowadays, and are obsessed with having what they want rather than what they actually need.;)

It's kind of ironic (and I hope I can say this succinctly) that because we CAN have everything we want, we're so unsatisfied.

That's why they keep saying that people were far happier fifty years ago, because their expectations and demands weren't high, and they could find pleasure and entertainment in much less.

Do you realize that I could go to any site right now and download ANY album, or listen to ANY song? And what am I listening to right now?? NOTHING! (Again, I'm grateful for the access, but it's too easy...that's just...depressing...gunna go cut my wrists now!!)

OK, I'm kidding, but you get the point!

That's so true. The number of times I've been in my bedroom with no music on, and I've thought to myself "I have hundreds of albums that I've downloaded (legally and illegally ;) ) and I'm not listening to anything - why?!" And I think it's because I have so much that I don't know where to start. Argh. that's frustrating.

Yeah, I do feel a bit bored. My days just seem to run together. I really want to change this but then the laziness sets in. :P

Yes.

But soon I'm gonna graduate high school, enroll the US ARMY ROTC and get a biochemistry degree and then graduate and be a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army.

At least, I'm hoping so!

Hooah!

Like Everest, if you could just hop a ride in a lift to get there, what would climbing it mean then? I think there's a certain truth to that in us all - we need new challenges to aspire to, and not to get everything too easily. Food tastes good only after a hearty day's work. Sleep feels good after we've run the quarter mile. Water is sweetest after a good sweat. And music is great when it's something to strive towards. ;)

Of course, too many challenges can be disabling as well! Something in the middle works best. (I've got too many challenges right now, and I've put too many stones on these shoulders. Need to get dug out of the hole I'm in..)

I'm still suffering from Future-Shock, and Boredom isn't it for me - more a feeling of being overwhelmed, and seeing the world around me change in some disturbingly unsustainable ways.. Ever try wrestling with the world? It usually wins.

i think mc squared it the nail right on the head: it's a lack of satisfaction. i'm sure people would kill to live the life i'm living right now, but for me I am not satisfied; i need something more.

Rolling Stones - Satisfaction.:laugh3:

You just need a new Mt. Everest..

try changing your world to make it truly sustainable - now there's a challenge! (Polar bears will thank you, if they don't eat you first:P)

Yeah how can one be bored? :o
