June 6, 200818 yr Anybody else agree? It's sooo difficult now only because VLVODAAHF changed my life!! I can see why they aren't extremely proud with X&Y after hearing this- Just wondering if I'm the only one who feels this way. Obviously I'll love them for everything they've done, but I cannot shut this new stuff off!!!;)
June 6, 200818 yr haha...agreed! Ever since I heard Violet Hill and started revisiting Coldplay's music, I've been skipping over X&Y. With the exception of Fix You, Talk, and Twisted Logic, I haven't really been listening to it. Now that I've heard VLVODAAHF, I KNOW I won't be able to go back and revisit those songs for a while.
June 6, 200818 yr its always been hard for me to listen to that album after hearing Parachutes and AROBTTH...... it was one of their weakest albums.... they'll even admit to that!
June 6, 200818 yr yea but x&y still has some pretty good songs that i can still listen too, swallowed in the sea, fix you, talk, a message. Once the newness of viva wears off it will be easier to listen more to x&y.
June 6, 200818 yr I feel like X&Y was by far the weakest album. However, I LOVE these songs off of that album: 1) Swallowed In The Sea 2) X&Y 3) Square One (Surprisingly!) 4) Fix You 5) White Shadows But yeah I think it will be tough to listen to the rest of the album when I hear Viva La Vida.
June 6, 200818 yr i havent downlaod it yet but when i first heard x&y that all i would listen to...becos it was new and it sounded great...i felt that arobtth was to quite, there wasnt enough energy so i wouldnt listen to that but after i started to listen to everything of coldplay (i bet this sounds so stupid!!!)
June 7, 200818 yr Actually listening to X&Y makes it harder to listen to Viva la Vida. Now when I hear Death and All His Friends I think of it as a weak version of Fix You which shouldn't be. I just love X&Y too much!

June 7, 200818 yr X & Y was the first Coldplay album I ever heard, so it will always be special to me. Plus, X & Y will always be a bigger hit with us young folks over the adults. It has a fun, groovy style to it, and we can also relate to the lyrics. With that said, I think I may like VLV more..... but maybe not. I guees it doesn't matter. :)
June 7, 200818 yr perhaps it's too soon at this point? i mean, new IS NEW and will be more intriguing. i remember that it took me MONTHS (in fact, years!) before listening to Parachutes again when AROBTTH and X&Y came out. by that time, the songs on the first album weren't on my mind as much and to hear them again after a long hiatus was refreshing. :)
