June 13, 200818 yr That's Great! They really deserve it!! No doubt about that! I hope this album sells a lot! It sure is a much better effort than Be Here Now (and I speak as an Oasis fan) , so it would be neat if it outsold it (incl. digital sales). Fingers crossed!

Be Here Now is a great album, some of the tracks on there are brilliant. if you mean they deserve it more than oasis did when releasing Be Here Now then yes they do. since noel was doing so much drugs back then. while coldplay have actually worked and worked on it, without the use of drugs. although i do hope it does amazing aswell :D

I meant that it was a better effort because you can hear Coldplay have worked hard to innovate their sound and try something new. And yes I also love the tracks on Be Here Now, no doubt but I do think Viva La Vida shows a depth and multi-facet layers that Be Here Now never did...
June 13, 200818 yr Viva off to flying start 10:11 | Friday June 13, 2008 By Ben Cardew Coldplay’s Viva La Vida sold 125,000 units on its day of release, according to sales figures released today by The Official Charts Company. As such, the album is near-guaranteed the number one slot in the chart this Sunday, despite being released unusually on a Thursday. Indeed, after just one day’s sales Viva La Vida is already outselling the rest of the top five albums. The album has also made a notable impact at radio: it is on playlists at Radios One, Two and 6Music, among others. The band plays a free gig at London’s Brxton Academy on Monday (June 16) to mark the release.
