One thing that makes me think this isn't Ghost Stories era is Chris's voice. During GS his voice was audibly different, im guessing due to the stress/situation. On this one he sounds as good as ever. Maybe it is a new release of the old song. Either way getting to hear this on my Birthday (6th) after a really tough few months was really nice.

Think you've pretty much nailed it there. "I like all the songs, but I don't really love them" Definitely feels like an album that needed to be made. I've got no qualms with the production, and have to say that I find the ethereal synth haze of this album perfectly suits it. We can't kid ourselves that this would have been Parachutes MKII without it, as the songs just aren't strong enough. they're pretty much all 7 or 8/10 with a few higher ones chucked in. Its a weird one as its a great flowing body of work, more like Viva than MX but it is just missing a few of the 'classic' Coldplay hits. Sorta feels more like an extended EP than an album :\

You could hear even on the Ghost stories film that his speaking voice sounded different. And yeah this album he seems weaker, can really notice it on ASFOS. Also none of the links are working for me, so a tad jealous of you lot at the moment

i didn't even know anyone used that site still. last time i was on it there was no one! was a few years ago though. though i suppose there's renewed interest cause of noels album. remix sounds good btw. thats coming from a fan who states Noel Gallagher as his religion. lol. :)

i sort of agree with chris cos i think its one of the best songs they've ever done. the rockier sound is certainly something nice to throw into their mix of sounds

i turned onto the music channel today and to my surprise all i heard was violet hill. and then the weary band come climbing over some hills. magic. its as if they knew i wanted them on. their good..........very good............almost too good :evilgrin:

actually this is weird but sometimes, very rarely my lost song jumps at the beinning. no other tracks do this but lost has done it a couple of times. no idea why lol

that wud be truley awsome. i think there trying to do it a bit more beatles syle and release albums out one after another every year or so. i think chris mentioned about wanting to do the beatles style quick release in an interview somewhere.

its got such a thumping beat, its great. and yer maybe they think its one of the major hits bt who knows?

actually the "feel the fear in my enemys eyes" could fit because they crusified him because they were scared of what he could do, and that the people would worship him. although it wouldnt work because he did not have enemys personaly, so he wouldnt say that would he. the line sounds like someone enjoying the power. n that hardly sounds like christ.

i havent listened to it that much tbh. ive listened to viloet hill about double. although i think its cos its such a good song i want to pace myself with it so in never ever get bored with it. which i cant see happeining. but because of that i just aint listened to it as much as i shud. n its soo awsome!!!
