Chris has impressed me at times when singing live. As he learns these new songs and tours more with them I hope he improves. As for the rest of the band, I think they sound amazing! The arrangements are nearly perfect and the music sounds exciting. Perhaps Chris should consider writting more songs like Yes in the future and more lower register songs with Will singing the higher parts in backing vocals.

As for Chris's dancing? Well we cant blame him for being excited and wanting to express himself... He's a lovable dork and I dont care if he wants to dance or wear funny clothes.... I would like to hear good music and sing along with the fans, gay, straight, black, white, yellow, whatever.... Open minds will prevail!

well put

Its deffinately different this time around, im unsure but at the same time optimistic that they will deliver like they always have for me. Keep in mind its a new era...alittle less piano and alittle more synth and handclap. It is amazing but it will take a bit of getting used to and alittle open mindedness....

As for Chris dancing...I could care less hes just having fun I just hope he stays healthy I think my heart stopped for a few seconds when he biffed it during Speed of Sound right in front of me in Tampa...just don't trip Chris...thats all I ask!

ill tell u if i found out that chris was gay... ya id look at him another way... and with his moves from the brixton show.. i wouldnt doubt it

A TRUE Coldplay Fan wouldnt even think, more less say the kind of shitty statement that came from your tiny Twentieth Century Brain :veryangry2:

On a side note... I would leave a happy guy as long as I got to see them Live... They could play 1 song over and over and over for 2 hours for all I care, just being there LIVE is the point... They do it the best! Coldplay and MUSE.. you cant go wrong for your money as far as Live Shows go...

I am very sad that this go around I wont be able to see them here in Dallas unless I win tickets.. Times are hard right now, and I cant purchase tickets at this time.. hopefully something will fall into place. Oh well I have seen them 3 other times :) My wife wants me to just buy one ticket, but I would feel bad if I went without her. LOL

How depressing to see that some people think it's still ok to use the word "gay" in a derogatory sense. Dear oh dear.

well said my friend. hard to believe we're in 2008...:\

Well mr. scott.tet I can completely understand your point of view. You are most certainly the most poignant Coldplay fan and are entitled to pure satisfaction. Chris and his homosexual tendencies..... just ludacris!!!! Come on Coldplay, how dare you offend and not please mr. scott.tet?????????

Too many gay moves makes Jonny crazy! :rolleyes5:

:wink3::wink3:

How funny would it be if the band decided to put together some group choreography :laugh3:

Before the video for The Hardest Part was first broadcast, they said on coldplay.com to expect some interesting dance routines - that got me thinking that CJGW themselves had actually put together some jazzy group choreography! Ahh, if only.

Chris's dancing may be a little over the top, but consider this. At least he is only dancing due to pure joy and enthusiasm, not due to being cocky or arrogant. I once happened to be in the same room as my mom when she was watching James Blunt () perform live on TV. At one point, he jumped on top of his piano and began dancing and throwing his arms up and down. He was showing off as if to say "Look at me world, Im awesome and you're not!"

I immediately thought to myself "Coldplay may sing high notes and soft music but at least Chris dances just because hes happy, never because he's arrogant."

So Chris may dance a little too much for your liking, that's understandable. But at least he's doing it for the right reasons.

your exactly right

most of my gay friends are actually really good dancers, so i would say chris' dance moves are quite straight.

haha now there are right and wrong reasons to dance...:laugh3: well if you're dancing while watching a documentary about a genocide, id say its weird, but I didnt know the field of morals had extented to dancing.

The word gay is brandished about so much now, I know Scott didnt mean it as some have taken it.

I personally think the dance moves are funky and out there. It shows he doesnt take himself too seriously. Can you ever imagine liam Gallagher doing that? No chance.

Lets not forget mate, they've been away two and a half years, live performances are always a bit rusty after such a long time.

- live performances are always a bit rusty after such a long time.

fortunately for Coldpp the cd players they use to play the backing tracks are not as rusty as they are

Three of the best performances I've seen live have had insane dancing frontmen (Coldplay, Muse (Anyone who's seen Matt's sideshuffle dance will get what I mean!), REM)

I couldn't agree more! He looks like a typical straight man who can't dance - but he still has the courage to do it, and he looks like he's enjoying it, so big up to him for that! How many men just completely refuse to dance because they can't and are afraid to try and look stupid?

Have you ever tried dancing like you just don't care? You're bound to look a bit silly, but it's SO much fun!

Also, if you want to see nice dancing in a concert, you should probably go and see Take That or Justin Timberlake or Kylie :D:P

LOL Yes i have seen Matt Groove it down LOL... I think the common denominator for Greatest Live Shows that I have personally have ever seen is some funky off beat Dance Moves...

Coldplay and MUSE... cant get any better live unless they were on the same bill... and I doubt that would happen :( BUT we can dream... we can dream.

i love the way Chris moves on stage.

his "moves" are irregular but they do correspond with moments in a particular song - he totally expresses the mood of the song and his enthusiastic, random bouncing around makes me feel all happy inside :nice:

Chris said himself tonight...

I quote

"I'm not the best dancer, but I'm enthusiastic, and that's the best!"

:D

I am glad someone else is like me!

:D

you can't argue with the man :laugh4:

100% effort every time!

My daughter says that Chris somehow makes goofy dancing "cool". Sometimes there's a fine line between coolness and cloddy. It's his signature and somehow, I think the live show would be something less disctinctive were Chris to not do it.

I think what bothers me the most is when Chris sits at the piano and plays a bit, gets up and dances a while during a break in the piano part, then the piano part gets "piped-in" while he's still dancing and strutting around. I'm still not sure how to take Coldplay's heavy use of backing tracks and pads during a live performance. I'm thinking that Chris' need to get about on stage necessitates more use of backing tracks. If it gets much heavier, it could go over the line and ultimately compromise the "liveness" of the performance, turning it into more of a panamine, IMO.
