Because I dont think competition between musical interests can be handled fairly.

 

There are millions of people who could careless about U2's and Coldplays albums. I believe that awarding any artist "album of the year" is a bit unfair. Who votes? Not the people.

 

That does make a good debate but, unfortunately we live in a world where competition brings forth success. And besides the Euro Cup or the World Cup series would not be fun if it wasn't a tournament or any awards given ... (get what I mean)

I asked what you meant because if I can remember ever-so-clearly, I can recall, you downplaying Coldplay's album and saying that Death Cab etc. was kinda better, in your own implication ... but w/e just wanted to make my sarcasm alittle more clearer in that last question that I asked you.

I completely understand. But the winners of the Cup beat out the other competition, it's not like that in music.

 

I really do understand though, it just seems a bit unfair. Especially here in the states since the U.S is also the melting pot of all musical genres. I'm unfair with the process of the Grammies tho, is it the most albums sold that makes the band the winner?

(b.) patronize the members? (c.) kiss the member's tushes? (d.) be really "artistic" so only members would find the music of high caliber? It may be a little soon to guess since we haven't heard any of U2's new songs, one of which is entitled "Moment of Surrender". Eno called it, "the best thing" he's ever done with U2.:stunned:

 

Randomly flying back to the very beginning...this doesn't seem like much to worry about. Their latest album wasn't that popular (and for good reasons, from what I've heard of it), so this next one isn't likely to upend Coldplay's even if it somehow turns out better.

 

Besides, didn't someone say Eno's favorite song on Viva La Vida was Chinese Sleep Chant? If nothing else, I can be sure I won't think much of this supposedly amazing new U2 song. And since when does all good music have to come from Coldplay? They're just the most reliable. :P

U2 WONT LIKELY MAKE THE LIST FOR THE GRAMYS THIS YEAR BECOZ I READ IN A ARTICLE IN THE NET THAT THE GRAMMY DEADLINE FOR POSSIBLE NOMINIES IS SEPT30 SO THE ALBUMS/SONGS ONLY WITHIN SEPT 30 WOULD BE INCLUDED,, U2's album would be released i think in octber or november so A BETTER CHANCE FOR COLDPLAY TO GET MORE NOMINATIONS and hopefully WIN A bunch!:stunned::D

I hope Coldplay is going to win more prizes. I don't really like U2, I find them boring, and Bono trying to save the world makes me puke.
