I completely understand. But the winners of the Cup beat out the other competition, it's not like that in music. I really do understand though, it just seems a bit unfair. Especially here in the states since the U.S is also the melting pot of all musical genres. I'm unfair with the process of the Grammies tho, is it the most albums sold that makes the band the winner?

Because I dont think competition between musical interests can be handled fairly. There are millions of people who could careless about U2's and Coldplays albums. I believe that awarding any artist "album of the year" is a bit unfair. Who votes? Not the people.

Does it really matter? Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie and The Raconteurs have released phenomenal albums this year. I'm just happy for that! (Lil Wayne might have too, but I dont know...) If U2 does the same, then 2008 has been an awesome year for music!

I'm glad this thread is getting dissed like I feared lol. Marissa, my gf was extremely surprised that I listened to Coldplay because I am a guy. (You know how you're gay, because you listen to Coldplay- Retarded joke from the 40 year old virgin) My best friend is a phenomenal piano player, and he's playing all Coldplay instrumental music at our wedding. Which is still unannounced lol.

I've been dating the most beautiful girl in the world for the past 2 years. She means the world to me, and I cannot wait to marry her. Anywho, Coldplay is our band. Our first kiss was while listening to Coldplay, on our first date we listened to Coldplay, and occasionally we would get in the car and just drive for miles listening to Coldplay. (I wish we were able to do the latter still, but gas prices ya know) What Im trying to say is that Coldplay has been a major influence on our relationship, and I feel like our love has grown just by listening to them. Coldplay has become the background music to our love. Coldplay is now and will forever be "Our Band". I highly doubt that my relationship is the only one that feels this way, and if yours is like mine, please post your stories. (Apologies to the Mods if this has been done before, I did not find a thread)
