happy february...we're in the studio working on tracks that will make the Head Ep...that's right, we're making our first EP since The Warfare one...so far we're no further than demos but the tracks are sounding very promising...at the moment Jon's playing some shit hot drums over the top of a musical bed that I can only compare best to an electronic Tortoise...Fish has laid some guide vocals down that I have likened to Bono meeting a young Seal with Martin Gore overseeing proceedings from his car in some form of life threatening stakeout...of course when you finally hear the song that has a working title of 'Their Light', it will sound nothing like the above description but I thought I'd let you know where we're at.

thanks again for coming to the in-stores and of course for buying MTYO...we knew this album would polarise opinion but to the extent it has, has been unexpected and bizarrely amusing...we like to keep people guessing and it is important always to move forwards...i'll try and keep contact and let you know how we're getting on.

have a great weekend x

we've left Their Light in a good place...Kieran has come up with an amazing piano piece that reminds me of Explosions In The Sky...we're about to start having a play with a dinosaur sized guitar riff...we're going for 3 guitars at once...mine needs to be loudest...still arguing with the oven...we've started receiving video treatments for Head...most of them suck...still waiting for Spielberg to call...Jon could be the next Indy...biggest discusssion so far has been whether instant coffee is any good...I stand alone in chastising it...it's not real coffee...tom disagrees...fish says I don't know what I'm on about...they will soon see the error of their ways...looking forward to the forthcoming tour...would be great to throw in some surprises...time to go x

The Cooper Temple Clause split

The Cooper Temple Clause have announced that they have split.

Speculation over the band's future mounted last week after they missed two appearances at the Camden Crawl (April 19-20), and now the group have confirmed they will be going their separate ways.

Confirming the split, band member Daniel Fisher wrote to fans explaining: "It is with a sad and heavy heart that I must announce that The Cooper Temple Clause have decided to split up, as I want to go off and grow Watermelons"

Fisher explained that the break was caused after he decided to leave the band last week.

"In the wake of this decision the rest of the boys agreed to call it a day and pursue other interests," revealed Fisher. "Friendships are well and truly intact and the love very much remains within the camp."

He added that the group wanted to thank their fans, stating: "People can say what they like about The Cooper Temple Clause, but the unswerving loyalty and dedication of you guys, the ones who really matter, can never be called into question."

The Cooper Temple Clause, released three albums, starting with their 2002 debut 'See This Through And Leave', and were initially noted for blending rock influences like Oasis with more dance-infused sounds that referenced the likes of Portishead.

In 2005 original bassist Didz Hammond quit the band to join Dirty Pretty Things.

It is not clear what the remaining band members intend to do next.
