Well, actually, Guy said in an interview with some magazine or something that from all the songs they did, they may be ready to put out another album.

Chris said it during an interview on Alpha Radio. I believe it's true. However, he also said that afterwards the band would "disappear into a cloud of hash" :thinking:

If it's including a full-vocal version of LIT and a duet with kylie minoque, it clearly won't be a full-fledged LP5. I'm taking it with a pinch of salt too, but if there is a new release in 2009 it will be something along the lines of "sawdust" (the killers) or some type of compilation.

Half of me is thrilled because, well, what Coldplay fan in their right mind would be upset to have more of their music? I'd seriously be quite excited

 

HOWEVER;

 

The other half really wants them to wait, hold off, release LP5 in like, 2010 at the earliest. I mean, they just released this amazing album which a lot of us, myself included, needs time to absorb and really take-in. I mean, even with VH and VLV which were released quite close to each other, I felt in a way that VH had been a little cheated of true appreciation at the time. I don't know really, I just reckon they should take things slow. We already waited a long time for this album, so give us time to love it instead of just like it. If they really are so eager to get their music out there, they could've considered an album longer than 50 minutes...?

 

With that said, I love VLVODAAHF already and I think they album length is just right, I simply don't think releasing another album so soon is a good idea :/

Well he did say late 2009, so a December release would be almost like 2010. Plus that would give me something great for my Christmas wish list!

 

I would like to see them put a studio version of "Moses" on their next album. I love that song but I've only ever heard the live version. Have they released a studio version of "Moses" and I've just never found it?

Never recorded, like ladder to the sun, and if they were ever going to release a studio version they would've done it already, not gonna happen and in any case, the live 2003 version is as good as it gets.

I think I could die happy tomorrow if they recorded ladder to the sun. Anyway back to the topic at hand, I'm all for getting the leftovers, as long as its really looked at as a leftover thing, I mean I cant imagine them giving it the full new album treatment. I think they would collapse from exhaustion. And I wonder how long that means we would be waiting for actual new new stuff.

Oh, here we go again! He mentioned 'rounding out the decade'! Like in the Spin interview Phil Harvey mentioning that they wanted to finish the decade and that they didn't want to sing Yellow for the next 30 years. :confused: That really irks me, but I'm probably getting worked up over nothing.

Hopefully LP5 that might come out next year won't be some kind of cop-out, so that they can hurry up and be done with EMI or the decade or whatever. I wouldn't mind waiting for quality work. I don't want just a bunch of stuff that wasn't put on VLVODAAHF.

I'm done ranting, sorry.

Doesn't surprise me at all. I mean, where did songs like 'leftrightleft' and 'Glass of Water'go? They aren't on the B-side so its safe to assume they will be on the new album which, I think, will be released 'shortly' after VLV.

I was in my Senior year of High School when you were born!:laugh3: But Coldplay is a band that attracts all ages. Have you seen Coldplay live or are you going to this tour? I saw a Nov. 17th date for Coldplay in St. Louis listed on stubhub.com, but no other site I looked at had anything about a St. Louis date. So I don't know if they're coming to St. Louis this time around or not. They are going to be in KC and of course Chicago. Unfortunately for me, the ticket prices are pretty far out of my range. I'm afraid I couldn't go see anybody when the tickets reach $100 plus.
