  • I can't give you the reasonings on why things changed, but I can give you an update from what I observed. The Oracle was run by Debs Wild. Debs is still with the band and helps out fans, for exam

Q. Dear Oracle,

I was wondering if Guy was going to run in this years London Marathon? I know he was injured, and unable to compete last year. Just wondering if he's all better and will be running.

Thanks :)

The Oracle replies:

There was indeed an injury last year but no, Guy isn't running it this year. Don't worry he's in good health. Good luck to all those brave folk who are taking part!

Q. I really like my 40 year old teacher!!! What do I do?! He is more than twice my age! But he is single though...

The Oracle replies:

Do nothing! Never mind the age gap or whether he's single or not if the feelings were reciprocated it wouldn't be professional of your teacher to act improperly towards a student and he could lose his job. It is SO common to have crushes (or yes, even feel you have fallen in love) with a teacher but leave well alone.

Concentrate on your studies and accept that you're feelings are normal but trying to take it further would be highly inappropriate.

Q. Dearest Oracle,

I have gotten a new roommate for my same dorm room for my next year at college. I emailed her introducing myself and giving some info. My only request was that I could have the same side of the room I have this year since I already have my furniture in place. She wants the same side and disagrees, thinking the first one to move in should choose, but she is in band and moves in early. How can I talk to her Oracle?? I am at a total loss. Thanks in advance!

The Oracle replies:

Quite honestly Grace, she's being ridiculous! I know it's not "your" room but essentially you already live there and she is moving into the space vacated by someone else so should occupy that space and not yours.

Perhaps ask a member of staff on Campus if there is actually policy on such things or at least etiquette to follow. It would be nice if the two of you could come to the same agreement but a teacher could surely step in on your behalf to keep the peace? After all, it could effect your atmosphere tremendously.

Woohoo, that's my question!! finally after dozens of questions going unanswered she answers this one. I should've mentioned Guy should consider running in the Rock n Roll Marathon here in Vegas, it's a legit marathon but such a spectacle, I mean where else can you run along side Elvis impersonators :P

Q. Is Roadie #42 going to continue his blog? If his book is being released this spring...then are his new blogs not going to be included?

The Oracle replies:

Matt McGinn isn't Roadie #42 so yes the blogs will continue on this website but given they are 2 different people the blogs will not be included in Matt's Roadie book.

Q. Do British people use the phrase, "at a drop of a dime," even though they don't use dimes?

The Oracle replies:

No we don't use that phrase here we say "at the drop of a hat" and it means much the same thing. However "drop a dime" means to make a telephone call and we don't have anything similar to that.

is this YOU, Brooke? :inquisitive:

Q. Hi Oracle.

I want to know, what does the expression "for good" mean, in the song "Shiver". I don't know if it means FOREVER or CHANGE IN A GOOD SENSE. Please help me, because here in Brazil, it's difficult to us understand some expressions ! Thank you

The Oracle replies:

Ooh another meaning question... when we say "for good" it means forever. Usually we'd say "change for the better" rather than "for (the) good".

Q. During Monterrey's concert someone was wearing a donkey costume, who was in there and what was the reason of wearing it?

The Oracle replies:

There was a lot of dressing up on the last night of the Viva tour. The backline crew all wore traditional Mariachi costumes. Fransky, their tour manager, opted for a donkey costume. As you know burritos are a popular dish in Mexico and burrito means little donkey (in Spanish); there's your connection!

Q. Hi Oracle! this is certainly worth to answer!

What does the projected Baudot codes mean in the "Fix You" video, when Chris is walking down the street? I know they mean something!

The Oracle replies:

It says Make Trade Fair - like in the album's booklet.

Q. Dear wisest Oracle,

Did Coldplay collaborate with B.o.B on his song "Not Lost", which is essentially a rap spin-off of Lost!?

Much thanks in response!

The Oracle replies:

I first heard that song in the back of a car en route to one of the Latin American shows. It was played to me by the band's manager and so I can tell you that Coldplay did not collaborate with B.o.B on the track; it's a sample use only.

:inquisitive:

^ at least that question is about something that you can't find out about via google quickly.

I mean not everyone knows who #42 is... that question about "All good things" however screams to be answered with http://lmgtfy.com/ or http://www.justfuckinggoogleit.com/ :P

 "Just f*cking Google it"

the All Good Things Question was a face-meets-table moment, plus the Oracle didn't even inform her/him that it was in fact not a Coldplay song.
