  • I can't give you the reasonings on why things changed, but I can give you an update from what I observed. The Oracle was run by Debs Wild. Debs is still with the band and helps out fans, for exam

Q. When I get married I want to use 'Till Kingdom Come' as the song that plays when my father gives me away. My boyfriend says the song is death-related. I don't think so. WHAT is the meaning of the song? Help us out!

The Oracle replies:

Given that wedding vows are all about "'til death do us part" I'd say it doesn't matter one iota if the song was or wasn't written about death; it sounds like a perfect song to choose.

If you hear a different meaning in the lyrics it's what it means to you and so it fits.

Q. Just one question. What do you do to make someone love you?

Thank you...

The Oracle replies:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46qctiIdMPc]You can't.[/ame]

All you can try to be is true to yourself and if they don't love you for that, it's not meant to be. I don't think you should try and forcing anything out of anyone is a falsehood anyway. You'll be forever wondering if perhaps they're only with you because of the case of gold bullion you gave them...

Q. Dear Oracle,

I was reading an article that Chris recently attended The Strokes secret show. My question is a. How did he know about it? b. Are Coldplay big fans of The Strokes. It would make my day knowing that two of my favorite bands liked each other.

The Oracle replies:

A secret gig is never totally a secret or else no-one would be there! The band were invited by [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1vvUec71v8]Fabrizio Moretti[/ame]. Yes, they're fans so consider your day made!

Q. Dear Oracle.

I just ordered Roadie: My Life On The Road With Coldplay and I'm looking really forward to get it.

First of all,

do you know how long it will take before I get it? (I live in Denmark)

And second, how many pages is the book? I couldn't find it anywere?

Thanks for answering our questions.

Love

The Oracle replies:

I'm not going to attempt to interfere with the workings of the postal system as quite frankly I'm quite mistrusting of delivery times.

There are 242 pages including the glossary and index but excluding the contents foreword, acknowledgements and introduction pages.

Q. Hello Oracle,

I was browsing around and came across something. It says that Coldplay will call it quits at the age of 33.

Is this true?

I really hope not because I love this band and it would be a real upset for me and many others if they were to call it quits.

Thank you

The Oracle replies:

Given that Chris is already 33 and they're in the studio recording that's just another comment Chris made that has been taken more literally than he ever intended.

Yet another reason why I pretty much never trust anything that comes out of his mouth. :dozey: And the Oracle basically backs it up!

Surely he must realise anything he says will be taken seriously by someone! :laugh4:

Then again, maybe that's why he says things that clearly aren't true :laugh3:

He just likes spreading rumors abt coldplay. And most times chris just rambles abt stuff to cover his nervousness

Q. Dear Oracle,

After seeing the guys up in Wembley in September, I cannot wait to see them again, perhaps in the Exeter area where Chis was born and where I live. Is this something the band would ever consider or am I just wishing for silly things?

Thanks.

The Oracle replies:

Oh dear, looks like you're unlucky as an Exeter gig took place last December!

Q. Hi Oracle! I wanted to ask if the Lips Like Sugar song was wrote by Coldplay or another band? Have a nice day!

The Oracle replies:

The song was originally written, performed and released in 1987 by Echo & The Bunnymen; Coldplay covered it back in 2002/3.

Q. What about love? Will Alexandre be my soulmate?

The Oracle replies:

This was your third question sent on the same day asking me about your house as well as Vitor and Alexandre. It sounds like you're confused about the two men with a flurry of burning questions I don't think it's me you need but perhaps a magic 8 ball to predict your outcome.

Q. Dear Oracle,

It seems that Matt McGinn is around the same age as the band members of Coldplay. Are Matt and Coldplay good friends or just work associates?

Greetings from Venezuela

The Oracle replies:

He's actually quite a bit older than the band (sorry Matt but you are!) but all their close work associates (backline crew, studio staff, PAs, management etc.) are also counted as close friends. The whole team get on brilliantly and especially on tour it's like an extended family.

Q. Is the fifth member Phil really a dog?

If so, what kind?

The Oracle replies:

Blimey where on earth did you hear that?? Phil is most certainly NOT a dog!

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

hahahahahahaha.Phil is dog.Besides the rumor that Chris had started a Sting fanclub this is the funniest Coldplay related thing I've heard

Um, yeah. That is probably another case where Chris made some silly comment about Phil, when somebody didn't know who he was, and people took it seriously. I've also seen an interview where he referred to Phil as their imaginary friend, and said to the interviewer "oh, you mean you don't see him standing over there?" I think he should start adding "just kidding" after he makes comments when he's just kidding, otherwise some people take him seriously!

Someone posted on another thread that Matt's birthday is Sept 19, 1965. Mine is Sept. 18, 1965. Hate that I'm "quite a bit older than the band." But I sure don't feel it!
