Anyone ever do this or meet one or all of the band this way? How late do they come out? What about security?

i might try and run out as soon as the encores done to the side entrance and hope to get lucky but best bet is to get there mad long before the show starts ill be there round 5-530 stalking em'

I was afraid you guys would say before the show.

I fully planned on taking the day off but someone is on vacation here at work and we are shorthanded so I have to be here. I'm losing hope...

don't panic... If you knew what hotel they were at you could check that out, but also apparently coldplay stays in the previous city until the next show. So depending on the shoe you may have more chances of seeing them.

When I saw them at Nassau Coliseum in 2005, my friend and I went outside to where their car might leave immediately after the show, and we saw several big black cars with dark windows come out from that driveway under the venue and speed away very soon after the show was over. It was so soon that they must have literally left the stage and immediately got into those cars. It definitely didn't seem like they were sticking around, unfortunately.

I've never seen Coldplay after a show. I have tried many times...but the closest was probably when they played here at the UIC pavilion which was smaller than the United Center. But, we left before some of them finally came out. But, now that they are playing big arenas, it is really hard to stand outside by their buses and stuff. For most of the shows, they speed off like the people above say.

 

I guess before the show you may have more luck. The only other way would be if you randomly saw them on the street, because you were in the area.

 

I would like to meet the rest of the Coldplay members and Chris again, but it just seems since they have gotten so big that they don't do anything special, like some other bands do to meet fans that wait after the show. That is my experience though.

well, i guess it always depends on the venue, as somebody said before ;) when travis are in germany, they play smaller gigs for maybe 1000 people - and so it's much easier to meet them. but aww, they're so lovely anyway^^

yes, i think it's of course more difficult for coldplay, with so many people...

i want to meet them too especially Chris but i'll try because i am going to philly show a bit early.

At Brixton, I tried to see if I could see any of them after the gig, but Jonny and Guy left in the blink of an eye and hopped into a car, that ironically seemed to 'hang'/pause for ages (well what seemed like ages, as the traffic moved away) near to me, Kash and Pete before it sped off. doh!

 

Best bet is before the show I think.

Nettie, who used to post here, met them all before the show... and I wish I had too... although, I might have lost my barrier spot if I'd left the queue. *sigh*

yeah, well, i'm planning to be at the venue in hamburg about noon, so we'll see... ah, i'm getting excited just thinking about it^^

After the show is when I met them, and in was def. their idea to get out of the SUVS and talk to us ! It seems to go better when it was the guys idea to spend some time with fans, not when they are hijacked and feel obligated, IMHO:D

unfortunately most of the time the band is off before people start to even to leave their seats for the exits. You have a much better chance catching them come in several hours before the show, at least thats how it was in Chicago

Mike is right....and Angie knows this also...after a show typically they are long gone by the time you are out of your seat. Try before. Trust me on this one.:D

Gisela...don't think they will never do anything out of the ordinary! =) They really do appreciate the fans.

I'd say leaving right after the show is probably due to security reasons.

 

Their security team can handle a few fans who hang around before the show, but after a gig of 20,000 it's not exactly safe to have the band out and about. Is probably out of their control.

In the UK it's going to vary show by show, depending on the location, the geography, how the guys feel...all sorts of things.

They might do the same for the O2 gigs in December, but only if they feel like it - they will have plenty of important guests to entertain afterwards if they want to. But they can leave at anytime through a number of exits - and then just hop on a private boat and be off, into the 'waiting arms' of a car and away from the madness in five or so minutes.

in oberhausen 2005 they were in the bus after the gig and waited until almost everyone was gone. we stood there (with only 5 people) for one or maybe two hours and then left before them, because it was really late and we had to catch our train :rolleyes:

and in Manchester G-mex days it was rumoured you'd never see a band arrive & leave because there was a secret tunnel to the hotel across the road.
