please help!!!

i need a pink dress for "pink ball" (breast cancer benefit dance thing) and i've come to the conclusion that it is EXTREMELY hard to find a nice pink dress. i went to almost every single boutique in soho and lots of stores in nyc, and i can't find anything suitable! all the pink dresses i see are so...cheesy i guess. they look fake, maybe because it's the wrong shade of pink or something. anyway, does anyone have any suggestions as to where i can look.. online or actual stores? thanks!!

is it like, a gown and cocktail dress kinda thing? and does it have to be solid pink?

 

if it has to be solid pink, i'd look for a dark pink. not that powdery color.

well more like a cocktail dress or even something semi-formal. doesn't have to be ballroom gownish. it can be solid but even something with a fair amount of pink is good. thank you so much for the help!:) it really bothers me because in a couple months i'll see so many pink dresses and get mad at myself cos when i needed it, i couldn't find it! :P

Might I suggest getting a nice white dress you like the style off, and in the meanwhile mix up some red dye, testing it on old rags to get the correct colour you want. Do a test to make sure it's right before dumping the white dress into the dye and allow it to dry.

 

As long as it doesn't rain or you don't sweat you should get away with it ;)

thanks for the finds! :) i did try macy's actually...the huge one in herald square, but i didn't see those dresses! i figured if i couldn't find anything there, there's basically no hope :P i'll have to try bloomingdale's next!
