Coldplay Feeling Warmer Towards Each Other

Featured Replies

Coldplay guitarist Jonny Buckland says the quartet is presently getting along quite well but knows the rigours of touring bring the usual bits of band bickering.

"I think sometimes touring can be quite stressful and we did quite a lot of touring with X&Y without a lot of breaks," he says. "Sometimes you can irritate each other and I think that might have happened a bit. When you finish the tour you kind of need a couple of months holiday or a months' holiday and then we're fine again.

"Every time it does happen when we come back we feel a little kinder to each other. We're all in the same boat and we all understand."

When Coldplay originally set their North American tour dates earlier this year, Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton were definitely in the loop.

Unfortunately production delays meant the group reshuffling the touring itinerary and those three Canadian cities were sadly left out in the cold.

But fans of the band in those cities can rest assured they will be back sometime in 2009.

"I think we'll definitely be replacing those in the New Year," Buckland says.

"I'm not sure exactly when to be honest, we've got it planned all the way up until the end of December. But the only plans we have for the New Year are playing those ones in Western Canada and in Calgary. I've got quite a lot of family in Calgary and they would be very disappointed if we didn't play there."

Western Canada! That means they'd almost definitely be playing Vancouver...looks like I might be seeing them again sooner than I expected!

Great!! Good to know they are worried about fans from the cities left out! Thanks Mimi! :)

I hope they come to Eastern Canada too again in 2009...

Good news for those there, just hoping they drop on down to Seattle, or Portland, Oregon!

Jonny's got "quite a lot of family in Calgary"??:surprised:...cool!

i dont mean to bother anyone.....BUT PLEASE CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY AREN'T THEY COMING TO PORTUGAL????? IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!

Hi all! I'm new to posting here in this forum, I've been lurking here for quite some time.. tee hee. I'm glad they're coming back to Canada, I was really disappointed when they canceled the Calgary date but this seems like good news! Family in Calgary eh? Maybe I should do some stalking.. 2009 seems so far away!

You should start calling every Buckland in the phone book. "Yes hello, you don't know me, but are you kin to Jonny Buckland?" If that doesn't work, just start calling everyone in the phone book. :laugh3:
