I remember doing all the stuff about medicine in some of my history classes, all the Hippocratic Oath and Greek stuff, the four humours haha  ok, so it's obviously a lot more than that, but that was the origins I think.

At least you're going into a subject that is useful :D

no one needs any more graphic designers  well not right now anyway.

It'll be ok! :D

the thing I miss most from uni is being around loads of people my own age.

Hm.... well, I like many areas of design, it's tricky. Recently I've been doing some magazine/editorial design but I also like illustration and photography as things on the side too.

KRANJCAR SCORES!!!!!

Oops...wrong thread maybe....

Woohooo!!! Not that I like football but I like Kranjčar!!! :D :D :D

It seems to be true the whole world over!

A few years ago, the government here would tell everyone 'go to university to get ahead in life!!!!!!! get a great job when you come out of uni!'

and look where we are now :dozey:

My friend is in Australia and finding it hard to get a job too.

edit: hi Cooky! last time I talked to you was at Wembley/Dublin Castle/Trafalgar Sq I believe :stunned:

Yeah, enjoy the rest of your uni years. Perhaps it will be a different situation when you leave :nice:

The thing that annoys me, is that no one seems to want to help younger people out.

The jobs only want older people with the experience. bahhh.

Thanks Joe. I have to put extra effort into job hunting :veryangry2: (my determined face, lol)

I know... Here men can work till they are 66 and than if they are healthy they let them work even longer. And women until they are 64 and then same as with men.

Yeah I love job applications.

Note: with experience. And if you are a women than some banks want you to promise not to have children for 3-5 yrs.

Joe...*karma* *karma* *karma* :bomb: + :inquisitive:

I wish that they did more apprenticeship-type jobs that gradually introduce young people into more jobs, it would be better. I think the problem is too many people think they have to go to university when it's not always the best route. I heard some universities in a lecture once, saying that their job is to encourage students to think more and not really train them to a high standard in a skill so much! oh well....

thats crazy making a woman promise such a thing! :shocked2:

good luck Joe :nice:

Im still not looking for job... So send all your karma to Kara...

Btw. Hi Kara!!! *I didnt know your name*

edit. Thats of course against the law. But its like under the table thing. If you dont accept it someone else will and they'll get a job. Ahhh well, as much as we wanted to be part of EU, in lots of ways some people still act like in communism!

And about my university. When I say what I study people's reaction usually is, and what will you do with that. The thing is I can do anything and nothing.

Howdy kids. :P

I have been awake so long now I am all wound up and can't sleep. Went to the dreaded post office and SCORE! the line only had 6 people in front of me. When I left it was out the door. Ha!

awwww, thanks Cooky :)

yeah, sorry for not introducing myself properly Antonia :nice:

how are your studies going then? do you get the chance to travel abroad at some point? (for study)

I wish that I had done that sometimes.

On the radio here today was a debate about how long you have to wait in the post office (most people were saying 30mins). The guy was saying 'this is a truly British thing!', but clearly it isn't,

Ok for now!!! Im on second year. 2 more definitely and then that plus 1 I can go somewhere abroad. Id love to do that. Dont know where... Id love to go somewhere in UK. But that's a bit hard, cause they offer Oxford and London School of Economic and Political Science and even though my English is good I dont think its that good.....

Today was the dreaded "last day to ship packages to guarantee they will arrive by Christmas" day at the post office. I planned my trip to coincide with kids getting out of school. Mommies can't be standing line at the post office when junior is released for the day. :D

I got my Muse ticket this morning.

And I am ready to do some Buckland shopping in the CP auctions. :sneaky:

But awesome about the post office!!! When I went on Saturday morning, there were only like 3ppl before me, and I was in&out in about half hr. It was a Christmas miracle!!!(and ppl overseas are starting to get their stuff!!:shocked2: :D)

It's so NOT a British thing...I hate the post office so much, I get cranky/angry/:bomb: just thinking about it, nevermind actually having to go:P

Ok, now I'm really gone, if not I'll never get anything done:bomb:
