so the coldplay concert i'm going to is on september 2. they're my favourite band obviously, i love them to death, blah... and the concert is in a city about 90 km away from where i live.

my dad said he'll drive my friend and me all the way up to that city and he's gonna wait there for about... well, a long fucking time til the concert's over.

so i'm grateful for that. i got nice parents, blah.

however, conor oberst (who i love and adore) plays a show in that same city on september 14. i do not want to ask my parents again to drive me there. yet i don't even have company to come see him with me.

what am i supposed to do?

i might find someone to go with me, but i don't have a ride. :(

ergh.

the train ride would be more expensive than the ticket itself!

it's ridiculous.

You know no-one else that would want to go? Anyone with a car? Offer to pay for petrol maybe?

the price is 21€ at the moment. it's insane. i'm not rich since i'm paying for the concerts myself.

What Mich said.

Try and get someone to come with you who can drive

hahaha. buses? that'd take me more than an hour to get there.

i really need to find someone else to go with me who's got a car or at least a dad who's got one.

but nobody else listens to bright eyes/conor oberst. :(

Maybe you could ask your parents and promise to not ask for anything else for the rest of the year. They might understand. :idea2:

I have an idea, let's send Mich over to Germany in her car, when she could drive you to the concert ;) :laugh3:

I'd be willing to be in a bus for that time!

The distances are insane over here so when i've gone to Helsinki to see bands i actually always have had to stay overnight 'cause it takes about 5 hours to get there by car :uhoh:

they might as well chop off my head.

but i'll ask them to give it a try.

and offer not to bother them until i'm 21.

If you want to see them, take the bus! I mean ... what's the matter if you drive there 5 minutes or 2 hours? It's the concert itself that it's worth all the money/pain to get there. :)

I know how expensive bus/train tickets can be, but if you really want to go there, that should be no problem.

 it's not like there's a bus line.

THAT's the other problem. What if you asked a mate of yours to go with you?

In total I paid over £100 to see Radiohead

£50 for tickets

£40 for a hotel room

£20 for train tickets

plus extra for food 'n' drinks

i've just texted a girl friend of mine, but she hasn't answered. she's probably pretending to be asleep. :laugh3:

i asked my sister, but she's being such a bitch. it'd be no problem for my dad to drive the two of us to that city if she only said she wanted to see him too. blergh, what a sister. i've already done a lot of crap i'd normally hate for her.

I spent approximately 150 euros for everything ... the ticket, transport, merchandise ... and I had food with myself, so it was ok :) The bus was 50 euros because we had to drive for 5 to 8 hours, so ..

I would simply ask your father again. I mean at the moment the whole country is talking about this girl Michelle who has has been murdered by someone in Leipzig. :(

So I think your parents are worried, too. The best solution for them is to bring you to Mannheim by car. :)

:shocked2: Mannheim is too far away from me.

aber der larsi hat samstag abend bestimmt bessere dinge zu tun, als kleine minderjährige durch die gegend zu kutschieren. :laugh3:

come oooon... you're going to dublin and prague and amsterdam and stockholm and i-don't-know-where-else and now mannheim is too far away? so not true! :D

hehe, i'm joking of course ;)
