Pris
Years ago I was cleaning my room while listening to MTV on the background. Suddenly the first cords of "yellow" appeared and i just stopped. I sat in front of the tv and just stared at Chris running and singing down the beach. I just couldn't stop watching. Thats my first Coldplay memory ever. A few days later a friend got the cd for me. And i was officially hooked.
strawberryfields
The first time I ever heard of them was when I was sitting in a movie theater with my grandma in the fourth grade, and the music video for Talk came on right before the previews. I had no idea who they were, though, I just remember that one moment. And the first time I fell in love with them... hmm, I don't even know. :worried: But it was probably about 5 months ago, after I had been sporadically listening to their music for a little bit and then saw the Violet Hill music video. :wacky:
Pseudonym
When I first got X&Y, I hated it. I listened to Square One, What If, and White Shadows and said "Boy, the first two albums were good but this one sucks!" Then I heard was listening to Fix You. I recognized the chorus from the World Trade Center Movie commercial. The song blew me away. I then gave the whole album another chance and ended up loving it all. I basically thought "Coldplay did it again". That's the moment I realized they were my favorite.:D
negus
When "Yellow" came out. That was it, I was smitten like a kitten.
chuck kottke
It wasn't until after a bit of reflection, and understanding what the world wanted and needed was something sincere; something that struck a chord with the tenor of times, and gave some solace to those in need of comfort, that I became more aware. Trying to find hope in a world barreling onward, and here was that hope.
NeSs1776
I was watching music vids on VH1 in the morning before school and the announcer was talking about "Parachutes" and how A Rush of Blood to the Head (which was the new album at the time) might mot live up to such a hit like Yellow. At this point I had never heard of them and when a video for The Scientist came on... the song really hit me and ever since I have been madly in love  Also the first time I heard Yellow the line "For you I bleed myself dry.." pretty much sealed the deal:D the line " look at the stars look how they shine for you" made me love that song lol and scientist is amazing too!! Loki0012
They're doing something useful and developing great music taste from an early age __________________ Ive got to agree with this there such a young band yet based on their fame now... they seem like theyve been in te industry for decades...... My story started when It was about 8 mnths ago in APril..... I never really wanted to listen to coldplay when my sisters tried to play the parachutes cd one time.. I was like.... "DOnt play that its a load of crap". and they stopped... hehe.... But one day.... Mys siters again wnt to a video channel and the yellow vid was playing... and iwas like okay... so.....then in the afternoon i was like bored and listening to our family Ipod and i came acrooss Yellow by coldplay and I was like hmmmm... better try this......I thought i would ever get hooked to coldplay,.... but the song was always stuck in my head..... I was walking down this street when "yellow" again went acrooss my thinking mind.... I was like I got to get this song! Then after that iwas listening and got hooked to "yellow" Its such an emotional song I loved it!. Then my sisters noticed i got their parachutes cd and started ripping it on the Computer at 11 in the evening.!! They said i was hooked and from then on I Loved coldplay ... from all of their songs to all their albums and EP's .... Thats how they changed my way of seeing music.:)

Clocks In My Place
The first time I heard Speed of Sound was an important moment that I still remeber. I was at a friend's house and she said from the livingroom "Julie, come in here I think you will like this!". Speed of Sound music video was on tv and I was really into it. Later I downloaded the song and listened to it all the time completely euforic! I LOVED that song! I will always remember this. But I only got the X&Y album much later (I think in 2006?) and listened to it a lot aswell, but only for months because the rest of the cd wasn't as good as SOS, maybe a bit boring. But then 1-1½ (?) year ago I started to search for some of their older videos on youtube and I was hooked! :stunned: I also thought with a lit of them "Hey, I've heard that before without knowing who it was (example: Clocks), it sounds amazing!!". I got the first two cd's and the live dvd for my birthday this year. I've been obsessed ever since.
bellynelly
After the Glastonbury 2005 set, don't know what made me watch them really as I only knew a few of their songs but wasn't really bothered to know more about them. After that I was hooked. I think I should be greatful for being depressed then!!!
Starlight
The first time I cried to 'The Scientist'. Sounds so morbid, but so true.
