What were you doing when you found out about Coldplay, and just knew that they were really awesome?? I was sitting at my computer, with my T.V. on as well, and the music video for "Talk" came on... I watched it, I really liked it, so i went on youtube and just found all the Coldplay music videos I could... The more I saw, the more I liked them. That's when I just KNEW that Coldplay is one of my favorite bands... what about you??

I always liked British bands. And knowing that my cousin bought me Parachutes as a biratday present. I didnt put in on for about 2 months. It was laying next to my comp and one day I didnt know what to listen and put in on. On first second of Shiver I liked them so much. But after 17 minutes and 54 seconds when Trouble started they became my favorite band. And they still are and they will probably be forever.

I was watching music vids on VH1 in the morning before school and the announcer was talking about "Parachutes" and how A Rush of Blood to the Head (which was the new album at the time) might mot live up to such a hit like Yellow. At this point I had never heard of them and when a video for The Scientist came on... the song really hit me and ever since I have been madly in love :heart:

 

Also the first time I heard Yellow the line "For you I bleed myself dry.." pretty much sealed the deal:D

i knew clocks and thought it was good, but at that time i was young, stupid, and preoccupied.

 

in may 2005, my friend had been saying that that coldplay band had a new song out and it was really good. i was walking through a room in my house one day where VH1 was on, and i saw the name "coldplay, speed of sound" in the corner of the screen, so i decided to sit down and check it out to see what she was on about.

 

i was sold by the end of the song. my brain literally went "so this is how it's going to be, then?"

It's so wierd i read this thread today, Long story short, after 9/11 happend i was beside myself and totally depressed. One of my really good friends gave me the Parachutes album and said "this will either make you cry more or get you through this". Well I did cry more but got though it. and here we are 7 years later. this album changed my life and I am utterly devoted to Coldplay. they are in my mind,ipod, radio, computer, house ,my thoughts, my dreams (strange one about jonny and guy sitting in a pond camping) my being completely.

I always turn the tv on before I get out of bed..and before I'm about to leave the house.. So one morning I woke up and got ready and I had a few minutes to chill.. so I was watching videos when Yellow just came on. I kept on watching it because Chris is running on some part of the video and it really made me laugh.. I had the song stuck on my head that all I remember was Yellow.. so I looked for it and d/led it. It wasn't till I got their album for Christmas when I completely listen to the whole entire album that I fell in love with their music... ever since then I've been a fan :nice:

i saw the "the scientist" video on tv when it first came out with my sister at about 2 am.

however, i was stunned about the idea of that backwards video and thought the song was sad yet beautiful.

well, and then i went through a weird depressive phase and sort of re-discovered "the scientist" and "In my place". i had those two songs on my mind the entire time, but never bothered to get any more into coldplay.

but when i did some research on the internet and listened to both songs more intensively, i fell in love.

Back in July 2005 at the live 8. I remember hearing "in my place" and "fix you" and their version of "Bittersweet symphony" with Richard Ashcroft and they really amazed me. Since that I never stopped listening to their awesome music.
