September 21, 200817 yr i love this song but to be honest i think it's a little too boring to be remembered a bunch of years from now. plus, it will probably never be released as a single so a lot of people will never end up hearing it which is sad. when i get older and i may not listen to music as much i think the one coldplay song i will always remember will be Viva la Vida. that song has seriously changed my life. even though i usually dont like their HUGE songs as much (such as clocks) because i feel like all the radio time and fake fans can sometimes ruin them... this hasnt happened at ALL with me for viva la vida which truly says something in itself. i dont think i could even and will ever get sick of that song.
September 22, 200817 yr I think it's one of the most 'different' sounding songs on the album, by which I mean, if it were an instrumental track, you would probably never guess it was Coldplay. But what separates it from their other non-typical tracks like Yes and perhaps even Violet Hill, it actually has a really sweet-yet-epic quality that very few of their previous songs have. It's probably their most innocent song of recent years, and its lovely. Wheras some of their best/immediate tracks like Clocks and The Scientist are sort of almost "in-your-face-classic-coldplay", Strawberry Swing has an understated beauty to it that likely only reveals itself after 2 or 3 (or more) listens. One more thought - if X&Y was Coldplay's most bombastic and *arguably* pretentious record (not saying thats a particualrly bad thing), then this song, along with the acoustic version of Lovers In Japan in my opinion, are Coldplay doing the exact opposite - and doing it brilliantly. And I think I forgot to mention that it's tied 2nd for my favourite song on the album :D
September 22, 200817 yr YA NOW THATS AN AMAZING SONG!!!!!!! I have to agree. This Song is timeless, emotional, dramatic. It has everything. One of my Top 3 Songs. Unbelievable to hear it live. :shocked2:
