Could "Strawberry Swing" be THE Coldplay song that STANDS THE TEST OF TIME?

Ok, I was listening to it earlier and everything about it is so blissful and timeless...I can see this sounding just as new as it is now 30 years from now, the melody and the everything about the instruments and how Chris does the vocals is the greatest. This very well could be Coldplay's "Across the Universe". Now all they need to do is RELEASE IT.

Unless it gets a proper release, it won't get the recognition it deserves.

I adore this song, it is my favourite on the album. I'm a teacher and my tutor group love to make fun of my music tastes (they're 13 years old, I'm 32 and they consider me ancient!). I put Strawberry Swing on one afternoon and they all started clapping along with it. Even after they found out it was Coldplay, they still carried on. The room was full of smiling faces, it is such a feelgood song!

this is rocketed into my top 5 coldplay songs upon first hearing it, and it hasn't left. i don't think it ever will. in my opinion, its one of the best things they've ever released.

however, i think that clocks will forever be the most timeless, most instantly recognizable, most signature coldplay song, at least in america.

Clocks is still, half a decade on, in an absolute world of its own musically.

It is NOT my favourite Coldplay song but it is definitely something that will never be touched.

And even though VLV is my favourite Coldplay album to date, none of it has the staying power that AROBTTH does.

Clocks, IMP and Trouble are Coldplay's first 2 LPs in summary form and will be the things still on people's playlists 20 years from now, probably along with The Scientist, Yellow and Fix You.

Oh - I think my topic title was misinterpreted. :(

And IF Coldplay gets in the league of the big big big names years from now, then even if it is just an album track and not one of their singles it can still become famous and covered often. One part of me thinks it's better off as sort of a 'hidden gem' in their catalog. I still think it's their best song to date.

I guess to see which songs will stand the test of time, you have to look at songs that non-fans will easily recognise. And i think that will be the likes of Yellow, Fix You and The Scientist.

I dont think unless Strawberry Swing Becomes a single that it will be as loved as the likes of Yellow, 10 years down the line.
