With the size of their tour and with how many people they have to transport, it makes more sense to travel by plane. The equipment and some of the crew travel on the ground in trucks while the band and the production team and certain roadies go by plane. It's a plane or three or four more buses on the road, or everyone booking different flights to their next destination, which isn't pratical.

yes they had a X&y jet. I have a picute of it on my pc, but I can't find it anymore:confused:

I will be very nice and really quiet if I am invited to go on THAT plane :)

 

But it makes sense with the pollution argument.

 

On the other hand, there are their families and probably the wish to see as much of them as possible. Touring in europe, they can easily hop on the plane and be home for supper in less than 2 or 3 hours and be back at the next location the following day.

 

They can't do that while touring the States or maybe other parts of the world so it's understandable that they are taking the most out of it :)
