September 4, 201213 yr Sweet!! Random question but does anyone know who the mohawk roadie dude is? He upgraded us in St. Paul and I thought he was totally cute ;) Guy's bass tech has a sort of mohawk-ish hairstyle (or at least he did at one time.) I can't remember his name as he only joined the crew during the later part of the Viva tour. Other than that, it doesn't sound like any of the core backline guys, so it's probably just a lighting tech or something.
September 4, 201213 yr There are a few others kicking around from Paris too, though not as nice. Some from the liveblog etc. I knew I should have compiled them for the thread.

We all waved at each other a few times during them setting up for Coldplay and he was helping with setting up stage stuff.
September 4, 201213 yr From Paris this Sunday: I took lots of photos of the roadies but most of them are blurry :whip: Here are the most OK ones: Matt, roadie & rock star :awesome: He played the famous riff from Should I stay or should I go, but only a very few people in the crowd clapped  Hoppy on the x-stage Hoppy, roadie & rock star The first time I saw him on stage I screamed HOPPY but in a very French accent ("OPPY" :shame: ), he didn't hear me and people around me looked at me as if I was crazy and had screamed a random word  But really I was fangirling over those Roadies I've heard so much of :awesome::lol: Miller taking photos - this was most likely for the panorama, but he took so many of them I'm not sure all of them were for the panorama. Another roadie would always walk on stage and down the ramp to the x-stage, and more and more people started to Wooo him and eventually at least a hundred of people were clapping and did a wave for him

It was just a thought. He's the only crew member I know of who even remotely matched that description. I do know the bass tech also functions as a sort of odd job man since there's so much less bass gear to wrangle compared to the other instruments. Was he Miller's assistant keyboard guy by any chance?
September 5, 201213 yr The new keyboard guy is named Andy. He took over for Neil Lambert. Too bad Neil's gone, he was one of the roadies I met. Nice guy. :)

September 6, 201213 yr Ah, so he probably wasn't a part of the core crew then. There are tons of people each tour whose job is to hump all the gear from point a to point b, which sounds like what he was doing.

There's a small army of local gaffers at any show, but if he's hands-on with the gear, more likely a temp or intern.

I doubt they'd let a local hand out tickets. In my experience, local crew is almost never trusted with anything that close to the actual production.
