i am studying Tourism 'cause i had not other option so.. (i firstly wanted to study English Philology or Spanish Philology, but was late to can get to take those courses / degrees, i thought to stury Journalism but i had to move and my mom didn't want to...).

anyways Tourism was my 3rd option, we have different subjets that gives us general knowledge and vision about the world around us, and we have languages too, so it was not a bad option then :)

I like your Scatman gif! That song has been on the first compilation CD I've bought in 1998 (I think...)

I'm studying Psychology. Why I don't know anymore :)

Have to write my thesis now, then final exams... I should be writing right now actually!!!

Don't want to think about it any further.

I also love the English language!

Went to a school in GB for 4 months to learn English and fell in love with the people, the language... everything.

I really want to live some time in GB in my life.

London would be perfect!

See you around,

Anna

Well, Ive been speaking english all my life... so its not too great to me. haha.

Anyways, it is pretty neat to have people from all over the world on this forum and how we usually all get along. I think people can feel welcomed here and not judged.

Werll Im a junior at CMU*central michigan uni. Im enrolled in the social work program and will graduate with a bachelors in social work. Also I am minoring in gerontology, which is the study of aging and I hope to one day get a higher degree in that as well. And I may get a degree in sociology too, because I like the study of sociology alot.

*in other words... im just gonna stay in school forever.* hahaha

I'm studying chemistry, I'll be graduating in about 1 year and a half.

And I'm taking the normal courses of my career, And German II.... my German is pretty lame right now. :P

I also plan moving to make post-grade studies abroad. Not totally sure where I could go though, I still have time to think on that.

Oh thanks, this song made my childhood, therefore it's really important to me :)

Ari, Tourism is great, if i hadn't choose Translation i would definitely choose Tourism, it's the closest to International Relationships as well :nice:

I just love everything that involves meeting foreign ppl, foreign cultures, it's what i want to make my life about, and i hope one day to be able to travel all over Europe...Aww, what a dream...

Ohhh I can imagine how you are feel and I have a similar opinion. :nice:

I'm studying "International Transport Management" since last month and I'm very happy about it. I was one of 18 lucky guys who have been accepted for this winter semester. :)

It has always been a goal for me to speak as much languages as possible properly and these courses of study are a good opportunity to let my dream come true. At the moment I have 3 English teachers (1 from the USA, 1 from Scotland and 1 from England) and I'm very glad about it, as the English lessons are at the highest stage. :)

I also began to learn Dutch, which is not very difficult so far, because German and Dutch are quite similar. The pronunciation is hard though. Next year lessons in Spanish and French are following where I can refresh and improve my current skills in both languages again.

You also have to spend 2X 6 months abroad. My first new home will probably be New Zealand (Auckland) next year, I'm not sure about the second one though. I'd be tempted to spend some time in Chile or Argentina to become more fluent in Spanish. But it's still a long way to go. ;)

I became an English student when i was 10, and later at 13 i started French. I know some Turkish for my godfather was from Turkey and i'm starting Spanish this year at Uni. Spanish is awesome and every language is welcome to me, but what i REALLY REALLY wanted, was Italian... :( My Uni offers many languages courses and i'm thinking about having Italian lessons, but i wanted it in my CV, u know what i mean? :( It's a shame (and stupid) that my course doesn't offer Italian :shifty:

Wow! I am impressed with these courses of study!

I never finished college, but took Business Admin & Accounting back in the stone age.

My daughter is in her second year of a Pre-Pharmacy program and took the PCAT last Saturday. We hope she will be attending med school in the Fall of 2009.

I'm studying aeronautical engineering, 3rd year now. The reason I chose that course is, that I like everything about aeroplanes, flying and such and I'd love to participate in constructing a new aeroplane someday :)

DITTO!

Translation - english-french-slovene. I enjoy studying it though it can be really exhausting. Will start working with Trados next week, yay! :nice:

Plus one of my goals is to live in UK and Belgium, so ... :p

Languages and cultures? :D

Well, I have Hungarian ancestry so I'm definitely willing to learn the language, Hungary seems such a nice place :nice: and the culture is awesome. The problem is: It is so hard!

So, I'm taking German course and I hope to become fluent (someday) and also learn French maybe... it's not supposed to be THAT hard since I'm a Spanish speaker.

Oh and Japanese... that would be sooooo cool.

yes, that would be a good idea too, but I quite don't like the accent of it. :p

We are the ones that most easily hide our natural accent, it's not that strong :shifty: :(

I think it has to do with the way it sounds... some people might not like German because sounds very strong, or Spanish or French for any reason. Portuguese sounds very weird in my ears. But, it's a beautiful language, I know some romantic songs in Portuguese and they're good. ;)

I do Graphic Design (this also includes advertising, illustration, animation and photography).

I chose to do this because, I have always drawn and designed things from a young age...I love posters, magazine layout, editorial design, photography. Basically I like making things that people will look at! and hopefully like. :)

oh, portuguese accent is so funny for us brazilians :P

I love it, I try to imitate it sometimes :laugh3:

it's sooo funny
