Why not? :( Which languages are you studying now (apart from Portuguese and English)?

Spanish...

Well i can't because...erm, it's something to do with the italian institute in Lisbon, it's them who apparently give my Uni the teachers, and this year they are having some complications bla bla bla etc :(

i'm majoring in american studies, which is basically anything you want it to be. i have to take a few classes in american history and government and all that, but mainly you can make the major into whatever you want. i plan to focus on studying things like contemporary fiction and films and popular music and how they affect the culture. my minor is going to be creative writing :D

ultimately i want to become a writer, but for now my plan is to teach high school english on the side. i'd love to write enough so that i could live off book royalties or something, but that's not exactly realistic.

Oh, that sucks. :( They shouldn't be cancelling courses for students because of that. :(

If nothing else, we have Nicko and he can teach us some Italian

Chelsea, uhm, if my teacher for American culture & society won't be explaining things about the US clear enough, could you please help me with the stuff?

Student of Architecture here. At the German Jordanian University, which means taking German is mandatory. But I'm lovin' it so far! :D (German, that is) And Architecture as well. It can be a bit tough, however, it's just something I feel like I'm gonna enjoy on the long run.

Aww too bad :( Thanks anyway! I still have hope that there's at least one Lambanana hiding somewhere. :nice:

They've all gone now apart from the one outside JMU.:(

I'm studying at the university of live

Taking courses in coping with no money until pay-day; learning how to do stuff which you never learn at school & how to cope when you get officers moaning at you.

All for the reasonable cost of Minus 14K a year

I wonder why so many people abroad are studying German, but I'm impressed! It's great! :)

If you need any help don't hesitate to ask! It's very tough to learn this language I believe. ;)

hehe, he should write an italian course for us! :D

Oh, if you don't find any at the uni, you can buy one outside it ... a keyring or something if they're not so expensive. :)

It's the most spoken language in Europe.

Having said that I'm surprised how little your language skills actually help you to get a job. It probably depends a lot on where you live though, I guess there would be a lot of jobs that require foreign language skills in cosmopolitan cities like London.

I'll have a look!

I'm studying kinesiology in my first year. I love it so far.

The only thing is though, the teaching assistants might be going on strike. In which case the school will be shut down....and 50, 000 kids won't have a place to go to school until an agreement is reached. We'll know by next week if there will be a strike...last time the strike was almost 3 months. Students are really pissed off that they'll be the ones suffering for it since we're the ones paying for our education.

Well...we'll see what happens.

I am a 3rd year student doing a double major in Environmental Science and International Development Studies. It can be depressing.
