My First mp3:

The iPod Mini:

Back in 2005 when i was 12 going on 13, my little brother submerged it completely underwater and when i went to take it out, the click wheel didn't work. Gotta turn the volume up and down somehow...

My Second:

The iPod nano:

Got it stolen in 2006 after only having it for a couple months. how unfortunate.

My Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh:

Had LOADS of these bad boys cos the screen breaks so easily. $50 out of pocket each time. until they recently lowered the price to $20.

My Eighth:

FINALLY! my dream comes true! I get a refurbished iPod Video for my 15th birthday! I had it for almost a complete year and just a couple weeks ago, it rains and breaks the click wheel.

So for my FINAL mp3 player, I'm getting an 80gb Black Zune. My, what a long journey it's been. :dozey:

I can no longer stand iPods anymore. Time to move the heck on.

I love my touch, it does everything I want it to, why intentionally buy an other brand when this one is perfect for me?

Well, if it works for you then it's fine but some kids want to get an Ipod just because it's so popular. They don't even bother to look at any other mp3-players mwah. Now that's what i find silly.

8GB Creative Zen. And I luuurve it. Great sound, brilliant large screen, small package. And built in radio for when I want some idea of the outside world. Though I do wish it had a lot more memory sometimes.

ah, that one was probably my favourite mp3 player.. i liked the whole package! I only had 4GB of memory i think but that was quite enough anyway.

^ Agreed. I just delete stuff I don't really listen to at the moment.

For example I used to have alot of Keane, Coldplay, and Muse...and now I don;t. Mp3 players are just a big scam for the most part.

Sadly i don't even listen to the music on my mp3-player anymore. I just use the radio because they have the funniest hosts on a finnish radio channel and i love listening to their wacko talks.. i just have to deal with the crappy music most of the time.

Geez, i actually don't listen to good music that often at all

While your iPod is plugged into your computer, open iTunes. iTunes may automatically detect a software update necessary for your iPod. If not, try updating your version of iTunes and the iPod's firmware with the latest version from Apple's website. If that doesn't work, try re-installing iTunes instead of updating. You can also try to plug your iPod into another port. Sometimes that works. And you can try to unplug unneccessary things from other USB ports which could be draining the ports power. If it still doesn't recognize it, maybe you could try plugging your iPod into another computer to see if it recognizes it so you can tell if it's the iPod or the iTunes that is having the problem. Hope you are able to figure it out.

Thanks a lot for the help and attention, I'm going to do what you're suggesting... I'm really worried, 'cause the computer doesn't recognize it, when I try to "remove hardware", I can't find my ipod!! :\ I've also tried to plug it in another port, but the same thing happened...

Sorry about that! :D, You could also plug in your iPod, go to 'My Computer' and see if anything comes up, it may say 'So and So's iPod' or it could say Disk (G, F, E) etc, check all of these! :D

8GB is plenty

just put on it what you want to listen to, update it every time you go out if your mood changes, you never need more than 8GB of music to carry around with you realistically

I like watch a lot of video on it. Video takes up a lot of space. Makes those two hour bus rides home from school a little more bearable.

Meh. Every time I try to take something off, it's exactly what I want to listen to the next day. I like having everything with me. And I wish I had the space to encode it all at much higher bitrates (I can tell the difference, even if the ipod zombies can't.)

Of course the really wonderful thing about the Zen is it has expandable memory. But I need to have money for that. And if I did, I would probably spend it on cds anyway.
