Should have disqualified them and barred them from the next race.

$100,000 is loose change to them. And an insult to the sport.

No wonder I don't watch it any more.

You can bet if it was another team like McClaren getting caught giving team orders they would have the full weight of the punishment book on them

Ferrari doing their trick of giving team orders again.

But then again it's Ferrari so they are allowed to do whatever they like

Total disgrace. This sort of thing brings the sport into disrepute.

Can Alonso just win a race on his own merit for once and not demand it on a plate. Let's look at his past 4 races.

Germany 2010 - Alonso inherits it from Massa who is told to move over and give him the win

Bahrain 2010 - Alonso inherits the win from Vettel who drops back to third thanks to a faulty spark plug after comfortably leading the whole race.

Japan 2008 - Fully merited win which showed his quality

Singapore 2008 - Do we have to? Wins the race after his team cheats by letting Piquet crash, bringing out the safety car which favoured Alonso. Claims he knew 'nothing of it' just like at the weekend.

Nice to see Schumacher hasn't changed one bit.

I was made up for Barrichello, must have felt great to overtake Schumacher after being number 2 for years and years.

never thought i would ever see webber at the top of the championship so far into the year. with the new point system consistent podium finishes doesnt guarantee you keep the top spot so mark really needs another couple of wins to put some distance between him and hamilton and vettel.

Schumacher up to his old tricks again?

McLaren have to be competitive in Spa and Monza if they are to have any hopes of continuing to challenge for both titles. Simply appalling in Hungary and at tracks which should favour their cars we'll soon learn how capable they are. On pure racing form, Hamilton is still the favourite for this championship as he has gained every point available to him in that car. But on car form, it will just look incredibly ridiculous on Webber and Vettel if neither are able to win this championship, because with that stunning car (the best car built since the 2004 Ferrari) anything less is an embarassment. The pressure is on those two and that team.

The Stig's the only person he's ever beat....ok that was cruel.

I love Sebastian Vettel <3

I Hate mark webber !!!

I love Sebastian Vettel <3:rolleyes:

I hate mark webber:angry:

Did anybody see Barrichello's new tee-shirt?

Ha ha yes

and the other drivers got 'I Didn't beat the stig'

I Feel sorry for Stiggy, he can't take losing.

Time to get this thread back up and running! Spa Franchorchamps returns this weekend - possibly the finest racing track in the world with it's elevation, sheer speed and overall a thoroughly spectacular rip roaring blast through the stunningly beautfiul Ardennes! Of course it was the track where a certain Michael Schumacher won the first of his 91 victories in 1992 (just 91?!) exactly a year after making his f1 debut at the circuit with Jordan. Unfortunately for Michael he has to start the race 10 places back from his original qualifying spot for being a but naughty in Budapest so it's not going to be an easy race for him in what has already been a tough first year back from retirement. But, I'm confident he can still find that spark!

Here's an image which is one of the most memorable moments from the past few decades in the sport. Hakkinen v Schumacher racing each other at 200mph with Mika eventually overtaking Schumi in a stunner move via some assistance from the lapped Ricardo Zonta who seemed oblivious to what was going on either side of him!

Italian GP this weekend. Brilliant race drenched in motor racing history. Venue of one of the finest demonstrations in Formula One history by Jim Clark. The Scotsman found himself with a puncture 13 laps into the race in which he was forced into a very long pitstop only to find himself a lap down and running in 15th place. What then happened was unbelievable. He then proceeded to un lap himself and roar his way back into contention and then found himself overtaking to re take the lead he had lost!! Cruelly though his efforts were to prove costly on his car as on the FINAL lap his car began to splutter and thus had to coast the car home but was still able to finish in 3rd place with the race being won by John Surtees in his Honda in an incredible finish against Jack Brabham's in his own Brabham team. The lead was lost by Brabham on the final corner (Parabolica) running wide which saw Surtees sneek up the inside to scream across the finish line first Truly one of the greatest races in history and truly the scene of one of if not the greatest drive in motorsport of all time! I recommend you watch the below videos. It really demonstrates the spirit and beauty of Formula One in the 1960s.

hamilton GONE!!! YES!!

.

What a massive fail! Talk about a "schoolboy error".

F1 is continuing to be extremely unpredictable this season, though, which is great.

not a great result for webber. but he now has a 5 point lead so its not all bad. alonso may be 21 points behind but with this new system that could be erased in one race.

Hamilton managed to carry on for another 500 yards on three wheels until the next corner got him. Maybe he should stick to playing racing games online with his brother!

With the race starts Webber's been making this season he can forget about the title. Was very lucky that Hamilton went out due to a racing incident. Good result for Vettel though. Unlike the last couple of races he drove very well this time round.

That's one of the reasons it's now so interesting.:D

It wasn't so blatantly bad. It was careless but that's all it was. First mistake he's made ALL year.

if thats his first mistake all year. why isnt he coming first in the championship?

Surprise Surprise Ferrari didn't get any more penalties for race fixing from the Ferrari International Assistance, FIA for short. You can bet if it was another team caught race fixing by giving team orders they would be punished.
