Maybe so, but they're the ones who convince themselves they're "ganstas" in the first place.

At least when someone decides to be a goth, metalhead, or something like that, it's only their appearance that might shock some people, not any kind of antisocial behaviour.

My advice: mainstream their counterculture group! Now there are entire stores in American malls dedicated to supplying youth with ragged clothes (Hot Topic, for example).

 

I don't intend this to be racist (although it probably is, and I'm going to be publicly hanged for it here on Coldplaying.com), but I really can't wait to see the crime statistics following Barack Obama's inauguration. Not because I want to rub them in anyones' faces (far from it!) but I have a genuine curiosity as to whether crime will increase or decrease among black youth in this country when they perceive government to be headed by a man of their own race. Fascinating stuff.

I'm gonna sound old, I think kids in general these days are really allowed to do pretty much anything.Their parents treat them like like kings.I have 10 cousins between the age of 3 and 12 and they're just awful.I used to babysit a lot years ago.All the kids were really nice to me but horrible with their parents, even at 6.They don't really give a f*ck about what their parents tell them to do.

 

I really don't think it's just Britain either.My brother got his shoes and skateboard stolen by a 12 year old kid with a knife when we lived in the US.

And there lies the problem. Parental behaviour plays a huge part in this (as highlighted in "Teenage Boot Camp").

There are many people out there who don't have a clue when it comes to parenting. They're just not cut out for it whatsoever.:dozey:

It's a sociological query, I'm not making any assertion about the superiority of one race over another :rolleyes:

I live in Bermondsey. They tend to hang around the local off license and most of the time they ignore you, but you do get one on occassions who acts big in front of their mates.

 

I don't have that problem where I live but when I've been to other parts of London it is noticeable although I've not seen or had any bother myself I have no doubt it happens alot.

I'm not saying Obama will have a bad or good influence, I'm just wondering if there will be a change in crime under his presidency.

Obviously nobody questions the importance (ideologically speaking) of the first man of black race in becoming president of your country, BUT his achievements or failures as head of the state in the future should not be judged or measured based on his skin colour.
