Big shows in September 2009

news_line.png

Good morning. Chris just called up BBC Radio 1 to announce that Coldplay are playing a string of stadium shows in September 2009. The dates are as follows:

Saturday 12th September - Manchester LCCC

Wednesday 16th September - Glasgow Hampden Park

Saturday 19th September - London Wembley Stadium

"It's like a dream come true," said Chris about the dates on the radio just now.

Tickets for all three shows go on sale at 9.30am on Friday 28th November. They will be available online from www.gigsandtours.com, www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.ticketline.co.uk. Or, if you'd prefer to buy over the phone, the numbers are: Manchester - 0161 832 1111, Glasgow - 08444 999990 and London - 020 7734 8932.

11 month wait? :surprised:

  • Author

Why are they selling them so goddam early?! :bigcry:

Well I do know, to maximise sales, but they'd sell out anyway. 11 months is just too long. AND it's just before Christmas.

What's the betting they'll add new dates in between those announced when they're sold out?

Yep, undoubtedly.

If I buy tickets to Wembley and they announce Knebworth for the summer I will be one pissed Mich  :P

Chris already said they were unable to get Knebworth. How many chances are there that this would change ? in the same interview he said they are looking at stadium. And now Wembley is confirmed :)

How many people can fit in Wembley ? 30 000 ? 50 000 ?

The Knebworth people said as far as they're concerned they're still in negotiations though.

Is unlikely, but you never know. :uhoh:

Oh ok ! I just based my beliefs on the interview of 14 november, but indeed it may not be definite. Knebworth sounds a lot more festival-like than a stadium, would be great !

I'm afraid of that, too. But i still buy tickets to Wembley!

I don't even know what I will be doing in 11 months..I just know I want to be in Wembley Stadium :D

and yes Ian, I'm sure they will announce other dates in between, the demand it's too high for only three dates, they will sell out in minutes

Try for these first, get an extra one (for somebody on here) if you can, and then see what develops.;)

I guess that IF they decide to make a DVD of the VLV tour, they'll probably film Wembley....! What do you think?

please guys do that ! :bomb: Uni sucks !!!!!

I guess that, too. Wembley would be a perfect place for it.

I wonder who the support will be...

Am I the only one that thinks this is Stupid. Outdoor gigs should not happen after August. In mid Spetember it will be freezing and no doubt raining. Why do you think no major festival happens after August.

Really bad idea

Oh, no - the whingeing has started already......................... :(

Can't anyone just be grateful they're doing more shows??:dozey:

I am not whingeing - just telling the truth- outdoor shows after August are a bad idea.

Then don't go. It'll mean another ticket for someone else.:smug:

I will not be going. Front Row centre tickets for Birmingham on 03/12/08- that is worth it. A stadium gig where you see hardly anything and it will be freezing- no chance.

The other peopel are welcomed to the tickets

From what I can gather it's going to be Jay Z

I wonder how much the tickets will be?
