anyway, had to buy new laptop after I was told by Geek Squad that old one had bad hard drive. 5 days without a computer was a pain, but this one is waaaaaaaaaay faster, so I'm glad :)

The young man asked you a question on education and what it has to do with teenage jobs and you haven't answer him. How is that crap? Is it because he's not agreeing with you and he's not putting it down? He brought up some good points and the article brought up some good points. Education is not the same everywhere in the US. Education varies from student to student, school to school, district to district, and state to state. So what one may encounter in one place they more than likely will not encounter it in another place.

 

BTW... I'm in the education field so I think I know what I am talking about. But, don't pay attention to me because I know this thread is for a certain group of friends but I was just interested in the discussion that was starting to form.

So, you believe that teenagers only get jobs because they are not learning anything about the real world in the classroom? Don't you think that some teenagers simply want to have a job? There are teenagers out there who simply want a job because they want to work in order to get more experience, and there are others who take a job because mom/dad are ill and can not work so they work in order to help out. There's nothing wrong with having a job. It's a person's decision whether or not they want to work, and if they want to work then so what?
