On the train today when the ticket conductor (whatever they want to call themselves these days) asked for my ticket, I reached into my pocket where I knew I had placed my ticket (having used it to get thrown the automatic ticket barriers at the station) and gave him not the ticket, but the credit-card receipt from when I got the tickets (although in my defense the receipt the ticket are the same shape of card, and the ticket conductor didn't notice it either)
