July 30, 201015 yr I just finished the book. Aww, the fact that I heard them play at Wembley Stadium 19/09/09 made the ending extra emotional. :bigcry: I miss that time. He didn't get his geography quite right, when he referred to the concert in Denmark being in Silkeborg, instead of Herning. :P Really good book. It was very entertaining to read as Matt McGinn has some funny lines, writes in a free language and tone and includes some pretty hilarious scenarios. It's a good mixture of serious things and everyday-roadie-jokes-and-fun. The book is personal and seems to get all around with many aspects of the life of a roadie. Some things I didn't understand because my English isn't advanced enough, but it's generally easy to get the meaning, I think. It's very much about being a roadie as the title implies, rather than about Coldplay, though, you get some good insights in their shows, how they work in the studio and other previously unheard/unread stories, which make the book a must-read for Coldplay fans. :) I agree with iduran20 btw. :) (and you're a quick reader! :stunned: Of course, English is your mother tongue, but still.)

Well because I really had to get back to doing my summer homework as soon as possible. :P It must have been kind of nice and weird at the same time reading about your concert huh? :D But like you said emotional as well. And you're right about the geography, I also noticed that when he was talking about when Chris and Guy were arguing about who looks like a geography teacher, he wrote that Chris' shirt said Paris, and in Live 2003 when they have that argument, he had a Spanish shirt. :lol:

It was kind of weird but really good to read about it from such a different perspective, yet find that in the end McGinn, probably lots of other fans and I had some of the same feelings about the concert. Yes, I also found that part weird, as it's in the DVD. :lol: I was like "is he talking about the same thing?" :thinking: After all, McGinn did watch the DVD, yet he memorized incorrectly. :P

Part memoir, part understated expose, and also a general travelogue of the human experience, "Roadie" is the type of book you have read before, and the type you haven't ; similar tales have been told in big-money books written by the leade guitarists of more bands than I care to mention, and yet, the distance from the side to the front is also very short and a very very long way. August 3, 201015 yr I should probably stop plugging my beautiful book and the day I had haha, but I think not! :P Therefore, I'll say that Matt deserves at least that, he was so nice to me in person, on the day, and I've never said this before, but somehow, he offered to sign my book, and I kinda said no to him!!! :o omg, it wasn't a straight-forward "no", but still, wtf was I thinking??? :confused:
