Ferrer is playing well and did put up a good performance even before Nadal's injury especially during the long second game in the 1st set.

Murray is definitely favourite in the tie against Ferrer but i wouldn't jump on the Murray bandwagon he hasn't faced a stern test from any player yet and i would love it if Ferrer made the final, he is such a grinder on court just running everything down.

Okay I'm happy Nadal is out, but since it was caused by injury I'm not too glad.

Injuries could potentially destroy Nadal's long term career.

But COME ON MURRAY!

I actually wanted Dolgopolov to win, but it's just a matter of my interest over upsets and surprises by new players; I have nothing against Murray. I like Murray, I want him to beat Ferrer in semis.

Sad news. She couldn't even make it to top 10 this time.

I hope Li Na wins her semi aganist Wozzi, she plays more aggressive than Wozzi and would be a better matchup for either Clijsters or Zvonareva.

Should be a cracker between Federer and Djokovic, hope Federer wins it and avoids being knocked out in back to back Grand Slam semis by Djokovic.

I really want Li Na to win the tournament. Or Zvonareva. Zvonareva needs to show the world that she has what it takes to be the world number two, being a semifinalist nor a finalist won't impress much.

I want a Federer vs Murray final. I like Djokovic a lot, but when it comes to him vs Federer, I'd go with Federer. Besides, these days I don't quite fancy him much, I don't know why.

Injuries could potentially destroy Nadal's long term career.

But COME ON MURRAY!

Yup! He should now be a cert to make the final, at least! Maybe he will finally fulfill his destiny this time!:D

Henin retires again due to her elbow injury, sad news thought she could have made an impact when she came back.

Yes, extremely sad news indeed. She definitely didn't look comfortable on court.:(

Why couldn't it have been one of the Williams brothers quitting instead of her?:dozey:

I want another Wozzi-Clijsters final!!:D

Roger's out too.

Now I wonder if Ferrer will be a surprise for this final.

i knew it!!!

Na Li in the final!!! i was at the sydney final two weeks back when na li played clijsters. in the first set clijster had a 4-0 lead and looked like running away with it but na li won the set in the end 7-5. and the second set was all one way traffic with na li winning the match easily. but this is a grand slam final, totally different setting and a setting clijsters has done well in lately. im tipping Kim

sad to see federer bow out. but this opens up a massive opportunity for the others. i'm tipping Murray to be too good for Ferrer tomorrow then Djok in the final.

Djokovic played very well and Federer or more like Federror didn't match him to his level of play so many errors on his backhand and not consolidating the break when he broke Djokovic's serve.

If its a Djoko - Murray final i hope Djoko takes it but it would be great if Ferrer pulls it off from nowhere.

I want Murray to win, although I personally like Djokovic a bit more.

And for the women's side, I'd go with Li Na, of course!

This is a golden chance for Andy Murray! Go on and beat Ferrer and then Djokovic!

Tim Henman Has Unlikely Admirer

JD Salinger was a fan of tennis player Tim Henman and enjoyed eating burgers, previously unseen letters written by the Catcher in the Rye author show.

Despite his reputation as a literary recluse, the collection - on display at University of East Anglia - shows he also enjoyed trips to Niagara Falls.

It consists of 50 letters and four postcards written to the late Donald Hartog, from London, from 1986 to 2002.

They are being displayed to mark the first anniversary of Salinger's death.

He died on 27 January last year at the age of 91.

In the letters, the American author said he hoped that when Henman faced German opponents at Wimbledon he "knocked 'em all down".

He also praised Henman's mother and father, saying they were not archetypal "professional tennis parents".

And he told his friend Mr Hartog he preferred Burger King burgers to those from other chains because they were flame-grilled, making them "better than just edible".

Mr Hartog's daughter Frances, who donated the collection to the university, said: "There is tremendous warmth and affection towards my father and this is so different to the man Salinger is often portrayed as.

"The letters have been sitting in a drawer but hopefully, by being in the archive, they will show people another side to him."

Mr Hartog and Salinger met as teenagers in Vienna where they had been sent by their families to learn German.

"I think there was this extra bond between my father and Salinger because they met before the war," Ms Hartog added.

In March last year, another collection of unseen letters written by Salinger - to friend and former neighbour E Michael Mitchell - was displayed at a New York museum.

Too right! Tim Henman was the man!

:bigcry: Fed what happened? Where was your backhand?

The second set was the hardest to watch - 5:2 in front and then lose it 5:7!?!

How is that possible?

Djoko had a very good day.. Congrats..

Awesome job Djoko! but It's sad to see Fed go.

I really think Ferrer will win tomorrow against Murray :(

Murray for the Aussie Open title!

Had Ferrer taken the second set i think he would have won it, he fought hard and played a really good match. Comparison wise Djokovic performance on the route to the final is better than Murray's.

Definitely!:smug:

Ferrer deserves mucho respect for the way he fought right till the end. However, Murray's class and superior all-round game told in the end. It turned out to be a very good match.:D

Djoko and Murray in the final!? YES!!

The great thing is that the two of them get on very well off-court so it should be a very "friendly" final.

I just hope Murray can finally join the "slam" club.
