Goerges is by far a pretty good player, she's gonna give Sharapova tough times. Too bad, she is trailing 3-5 behind Sharapova in the deciding set.

 

Na Li won easily, Strycova is a bit inconsistent in her performance although she has defeated Dokic and Rezai.

I love surprises. I love to see new players making their breakthrough in Grand Slams. This time I look forward for Latvian Anastasija Sevastova to go further. She is doing really good so far. For the mens side, I root for Bernard Tomic maybe. But he receives too much limelight, it's no longer fun though.

Tomic has a reputation for being quite a knobhead, read it up on Wikipedia. I hope Nadal demolishes him and hands him a good lesson.

 

Great match currently between Wawrinka and Monfils with many long rallies i hope Stan pulls this off.

yeah australia has really struggled to warm to him. but if he puts up a good fight against Nadal tonight i think he might win over a lot of fans. i'm still doubting his ability to make the big time but i would love to be proven wrong.

Tomic played very well. it did not feel like i was watching no.1 v no.190. the first set was actually much closer than it looked. i think overall rafa only won 4 points more than tomic did. then when he had that double break in the 2nd i really thought he might shock us but he just couldn't keep up with rafa. i think if tomic works hard this year and if he goes to the right tournaments (that is, stay away from the clay courts) he might creep into the top 100 before he turns 20.

 

on the other hand stosur was very very disappointing. we had great expectations of her. :(

nup all gone. it's funny thought how the worse australia becomes at tennis the more popular it becomes as a sport to watch on tv or at the ground.

i sat down at about 5-30 to watch what i thought would be the end of the kuznetsova v schiavonne match. it's almost 8pm now and i am still sitting here enjoying this epic match.

kuznetsova v schiavonne was probably the greatest game of womens tennis i have ever seen. the two of them were still playing brilliant tennis even after 4hrs. amazing!

Wawrinka played just liked he did against Monfils simply fantastic, big serves and his backhand on fire. Roddick was also piss poor he just kept hitting the balls back in waiting for a Wawrinka but that never came. Should be a good test for Federer and Federer fell asleep against Robredo and lost a set.

I really want to see him and Dolgopolov to get further although it sounds pretty much tough.
