i absolutely love this song to death. this is a bit extreme but possibly the only reason I still hold on to this band. it's so genius.

 

as for dark and haunting:

 

other b-sides like I ran away, Bigger stronger..

 

and some parachutes/rush of blood songs like SPIES, Politik, etc.

 

 

Personally, I think their "dark" phase ended with Rush of blood album. I don't find anything on X&Y to be dark and haunting, alas. As for VLV, perhaps cemeteries.. that song is also genius.

I always saw "I Bloom Blaum" as dark and sort of haunting, in a beauftiful way. The melody is quite moody, and some of the lyrics add to it as well..

 

I love it. For such a short song, it manages to transport me every time :nice:

I don't see Coldplay as dark. If I want dark, I'll listen to The Cure.

that's why my fav album is AROBTTH - Whisper, Daylight, Politik, AROBTTH,GPASUYF... Amaaaaaziiiiiiing!

 

And yeah, other dark songs of theirs like 42, Lhuna, Twisted Logic, Yes, Cemeteries of London in a way... All awesome. Really awesome. I wish they had some more dark songs...They are so cool.
