So Valentine's Day is nearly upon us...

People often don't expect it to turn out badly (or are you referring to after it gets bad? I might have misunderstood). If it starts to get bad, I guess people keep hoping that things will work out in the end (when they really won't), so they keep holding on to it. Breakups are depressing (though I guess one needs to take chances sometimes).

Also, I might as well mention that I agree that I would indeed deserve to die if I thought being a promiscuous whore was a perk to being single.

To be honest, I'm a hypocrite myself for having a go at people for being attracted to people they have no hope of actually having a solid relationship with and I hate myself for doing the same thing, ah well.

Haha, well I'm glad you agree

Well, first of all, valentine's day is called "friends' day" in finland. So it's not a day for lovers only. Soo, i'll just have fun with my friends and we'll do something nice together :nice:

Friends' Day a) sounds better b) more practical c) less suicide! Unless you are a loser and have no friends of course

Valentine's Day can be considered a friends day too... :laugh2:

So basically what you are doing there is trying to justify your loneliness by claiming that being single has perks, then not mentioning what any of them are, unless you mean being a promiscuous whore, in which case you should die.

Who are you to judge people like that? Just because someone's promiscuous doesn't mean they're a whore.

It's not for me personally but that's a different matter.

umm...perhaps that's why he said "primiscuous whore". in any case, I'm inclined to believe there's something redundant about putting the two words together.

Oh great... as if I wasn't lonely enough as it is... now I've got a holiday to remind me of it :sick:

You're right, there's no pimp usually.

I got one valentines card ever...it was in Primary School, in my pre-pubescent "kissing is yuck" days, I ripped it up in her face after being teased because a girl liked me

Ever have that awkward feeling of valentines coming up and youve only been going out with someone a few weeks?

I dont know why its so awkward, but it is. I think its celebrating the day of love bit, with someone youre not sure if you love and vice versa.

Besides its always been a bullshit day to me, I reluctantly go along with it but whatcanyado

^ I've never been in a relationship so I can't relate.

Hahaha that sounds even more awkward. That would be a weird, regressive relationship.

Single is the best way to be. At least if its an important time in your life, which most times are, so yeah.

hahaah, it's all in your head, it won't be awkward if you don't make it awkward :P

I think being a busy university student, having a relationship would kill my academically.
