mmmm you should've given us at least 20 choices :)

Everything's Not Lost - I'm just walking with the approach that you don't have to worry so much and that you have to leave behind all the wrong things that passed your life.

What If - I'm really thinking about a lot of things and then ask myself, 'what if?' I can go mad about that haha

Violet Hill - Because this song has changed my life. When I saw the Tokyo gig on MTV, I wanted to play guitar because I really wanted to play guitar like Chris does on that song on stage. That completely changed my life, and Violet Hill is such a great song.

Princess of China - There was a time in my life where I could really have a great time with someone, but something went wrong. We could've had a castle, you can say.

Amsterdam - Because it's probably one of my three favorite Coldplay songs, because of the melody, the feeling I get, the beautiful piano playing, the live 2003 version with Chris' unbelievable voice, the lyrics and because of the brilliant second part of the song, where everything comes together.

Trouble - first song I´ve heard of them.

Politik - this song first time I listened it gave me lot of shiver in me ... the lyrics, I like how the song is building/made.

The Scientist - first song I learnt on the piano and one of the songs of my life.

Lovers In Japan - I remember lot of good times.

Violet Hill - the sound of the song, the lyrics, ... it gives me energy.

:bomb: Impossible. Choice.

No order of importance, I guess it would be:

Fix you

A message

Shiver

What if

See you soon

(though if I could I'd add Politik, Swallowed in the sea, Violet Hill, Amsterdam, Lovers in Japan & Everything's not lost...And The Hardest Part)

These aren't my 5 ( 12  ) favorite songs, because I can't choose 5 (12  ) favorite songs (if I'd list them, there would be like 50 of them  )

And this list will probably change over time...

EDIT: Oh, and thinking about it, Up with the birds would be a GREAT soundtrack :awesome:

My go to songs:

Everything's Not Lost

Don't Panic

God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

Clocks

Up With The Birds

Life is for Living

We Never Change

Speed of Sound

X&Y

Death and All His Friends

1.clocks

2.lost

3.42

4.viva la vida

5.talk :smug:

Ok...It's too much difficult but I try...

Only 5? ç_ç No, I can't xD The point is that already all X&Y is about my life and adding 1 or 2 songs from other albums...

1- Fix you [is my favorite song and a important part of my life is write in it...especially about loosing love...]

2- Low [Like I've already said somewhere this song is for me, I know u.u I know that Chris Martin wrote it for me and that you is Kristal Siderglace]

3- The hardest part [Ok, well...you know And the hardest part was letting go not taking part? Ok, for a period this was true for me, not now because [returning to Fix You] If you never try you'll never know...and I tried...Ok, I know, I'm making confusion but it's all a long, sad, story...however this songs remember me of a period of sentimental indecision or even better a period where I risk to lose the most important person for me at the moment (that is not the same person of Fix You...I said, it's a long and very sad story)]

4- In My Place [This is link with all the story I told, it's link to The hardest part , actually in the story line comes before of The hardest part]

5- Talk [i always will be [i]so scared about the future [/i]]

6- The World Turned Upside Down and Til Kingdom Come[These are always for the person of The hardest part and In my place]

7- What if [There is need to say anything? It's always part of the same story]

8- X&Y [And even this...]

9- Yes [...and this]

So this is all and this is even the reason why I love them...a lot of their songs [not just this...but they must be 5...hem...yes...] speaks literally of my life.

And if you want an happy ending of this story

10- Every teardrop is a waterfall [Maybe I'm in the black, maybe I'm on my knees

maybe I'm in the gap between the two trapezes

but my heart is beating and my pulses start

cathedrals in my heart]

and

11- Green Eyes [That green eyes

You're the one that I wanted to find]

1. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

2. Lovers in Japan

Shiver ..because it was the first Coldplay song I fell in love with

Yes! .. cause I can relate to it

See you soon - lovely!

Glass of water ..when they played it At River in Buenos Aires it just blew my head off!

Us against the world .. what is not to like about it!..just watch the live version at Glastonbury!

..this is hard!..I tried to pick just 5 as you asked!..but there are so many and all of them are somehow special to me!

two more..Talk and Low! ♥

Nice idea! I love to read the little stories of people with the songs.

For me, Green Eyes and Amsterdam would make much sense, since I'm from Holland/have visited Amsterdam many times and I've got green eyes ..... but if only five, it might be these:

1. The Scientist - Listened a lot to this when I started my study biology and really went for becoming a scientist. I fell in love with another biologist and we had a troublesome relationship, at which end I found myself listening to this and cry.

2. Clocks - Found it an amazing song! One of my favorites songs ever. Could fit in a lot of places in my personal soundtrack.

Home, home where I wanted to go"

3. Speed Of Sound - I went to Denmark for my thesis at that time. Still had cassettes and this song I recorded on it as well. Whenever I hear it now, it brings me back in Copenhagen. Bicycling through the city with this in my head. When I worked in the basement of the uni, when I partied with students and when I sat at home at the fire place or in the garden.

4. Talk - The dorm I lived in was amazing, we partied a lot. Late at night we would find ourselves talking half-drunk/half stoned, but a drunk and a child are the most honest people there are. They were more than dorm mates, they were friends. No, they were even more than friends.

At that time I was dating a German guy. We talked a lot through Skype and when we looked at our future plans it didn’t match/gave friction. I broke up with him despite the nice time we had.

5. Violet Hill - When this was on the radio I was again in Denmark. This time for my work, for I had become a scientist and did fieldwork in Denmark. With a prof I would ride through Denmark and also visit old burial sites. I made a picture of him walking on one when the sun was starting to go down, giving the sky a violet hint. I always see this picture in my head and remember our fieldtrips when I hear this song.

"Bury me in honour when I’m dead and hit the ground"
