i've heard every album by both bands. KoL havent evolved their sound in any way, they've simply started sounding like every other arena rock wannabe band out there, over produced, drowning in studio gimmicks and kurt-cobain-esque vocals. thats why people are disliking them. popularity has nothing to do with it, they headlined glastonbury BEFORE only by the night came out.

says the guy with Silverchair & RCHP as two of his favorite bands

just like every guitarist going around now models themselves on jimmy page, eric clapton, pete townsend and hendrix. guitarist in 30years time will be looking up to jack white. i'm not saying he is better than them but im willing to take the punt that he is the artist of this generation. he may be the joke of the industry in a few decades time but im confident he wont be.

ok, i'm just going to stop here simply because of the fact that you're too stubborn to realize that KoL has in fact evolved from their first album. Lord knows why you even brought them up when we were talking about Jack White. So now that we're back on my original subject, Jack White, I'm going to agree that people are going to view him as one of premier artists of this generation, since he is doing everything he can to find his niche. Unfortunately he'll never have the influence, charisma, and character that all those guitarists you mentioned had/have.

hey cmon we've agreed to disagree. lets move on. i dont want this to turn into another radiohead-versus-the-world-type debate where we all hate each other cos we have different tastes and views in music.

The Dead Weather rocked Glastonbury last night. this was Jack's 4th appearance at the festival this decade. twice with the white stripes, once with the raconteurs and now with this new band.

the album has been streaming on the band's Facebook page for the last 24hrs. i'm pretty sure its finished now. i had two listens to the album and i must admit im not all that impressed, maybe its a grower im really not sure. nonetheless there are some awesome bass lines from LJ on it. i really wish Jack would focus on the white stripes and raconteurs.

do people think that Jack will keep going with the dead weather? he has admitted that he will be back working with Meg by september/october. if everything works out that will keep him occupied for most of 2010 and then the raconteurs boys promised an album sometime in 2010. the man needs to take a break or he will burn out and that always leads to ordinary music.

I Cut Like A Buffalo is my favourite track alongside Treat Me Like Your mother

The Dead Weather appeared live on NME Radio yesterday (Oct 29) and - Jack White revealed that the band have "15 or 20" songs ready to record for their second album. White said that the band will be getting together in December to record the follow-up to this year's debut 'Horehound', and that the band would "maybe finish the record if we can".

good on them for recording so fast but the dead weather is easily jack white's least successful and most uninspiring project to date and i dont see why he keeps pushing this. white stripes and raconteurs fans are getting sick of waiting for new records.
