Goldie Looking Chain: Coldplay were really boring

Featured Replies

MG: With the intense raps in each of your songs, it must be easy to make mistakes live on stage?

Billy Webb: It happens all the time. You’ll see us looking across sometimes and asking each other what our next line is.

Eggsy: I couldn’t recite half of the lyrics to you now to be honest but if we put the music on and went through it, then it would come to me. I think that’s all part of the chaos of the show, really.

Billy Webb: It’s funny when you see serious bands and if they f*ck up their first song, they think they’ve missed their big chance or whatever and it’s like “f*cking hell, don’t worry about it.”

Eggsy: I got to see Coldplay for free in London and thank f*ck I didn’t pay for it, it was rubbish, just really boring. For a band that was playing on such a big scale – f*cking rubbish. They could have done something, there was nothing. I think they dropped a load of yellow balloons from the ceiling when they played ‘Yellow’. What a load of bollocks.

MG: Do you suppose their success is more indicative of a music-buying public with poor taste?

Billy Webb: Well, if it’s at Christmas, and you see a Coldplay CD, people will think “oh yeah, I’ll buy that for my auntie”.

Eggsy: ASDA and Tesco are massive sellers of this stuff, I think there’s a lot of like trendy young mothers who think “oh is that an Oasis CD” or “oh I like indie, I’ve got a Dido album.” It’s like “oh, fuck off.” But that’s the way it goes, there’ll always be music like that and there’ll always be music like this.

Billy Webb: I think there was a statistic before where every household in Britain was supposed to own a Beautiful South album. I’ve never owned one. Someone must have had two. Someone must have had eight.

Haha that is SOOOOO true! :P Anyone who ends up on Celebrity Big Brother should take a good hard look at their career before criticizing anyone else! That is about as low as your career can go, isn't it!

Who the hell is that anyway?

Exactly my thoughts.

Wow they are like shitter than Soulja Boy and that was shitter than shit!
