nazym86
Question for you all.....Why is it that you all think that Coldplay doesnt have a fan club for its true and genuine fans. We are the folks that would go crazy for them and really deserve the BEST seats and the opportunities for meet and greets...not just the schmucks with alot of money. We really need a true fan club with announcements for true coldplay fans! We shouldnt have had such a difficult time getting Pit tickets being we did all the research and drove ourselves crazy with ticketrush and livenation.....presale means nothing these days with the way scalpers work. They run the show. I got decent seats for my Philly show May 26th....sec 100 row s....not terrible but I feel I should have done better. Most band have a fan club that looks out for there fans. Now again alot of scalpers could us this to there advantage too but maybe it should be like this, a forum...and you are only eligible for this vital information only after you make a certain pre-determined number of legitimate posts about Coldplay. What do you guys think??
Black Rose
Because fan clubs don't really work.
Darlene_Ihnfsa
@ nazym86: as far as i know there's an official club in Argentina. Italia has their own board. (both contribute on this board too ;) ) Plus this board is recognized by the band and is very active, have a lot of information about the band. my own experience about that fan club thing: i tried to create one in my country like in 2003, i wrote EMI and i got no answer (even when i had people interested to form an official club, (i runned a msn group with more than 300 people joined). I got that many coldplayers in my country meet, thanks to the groups where i was and contributed my best daily, they run their own forum (since december 2005) now, but no official thing. I went back to their site (in 2008) and asked about the plans to make it be an official club (back in 2005 they told me they planned to meet someone from EMI, which now they deny that part), as you see no answer from them... :\ i agree with your point, having an official club some things you say may be would be a bit easier. but not that much, just it'll be like that: now we complain they reserve the best places to someone we don't know, if we were in an official club we could have those seats, but we will have to draw the seats among our club fans and even that way a lot of people will be out and don't get those good seats. but that doesn't solves the tickets problems really, because the problem is there, we know they are doing those things for their own benefit. currently the only thing i can think to solve (may be a bit) the tickets problem, will be having a travel agency just for band tours. :uhoh: as an agency you have more access easily to best seats, but a travel agency is more difficult to create than a fan club. Black Rose
I say have a ballot similar to the warchild gig, where you enter into a hat and a lucky number get given a password to buy tickets, also all available seats get put into a hat where you select the seats, be they first row be there last row, you can always cancel and try again. airieslady
The original Coldplay.com used to have a special Hotseat sale before anyone and it was good seats and was really nice for the fans! You received a special gift and lanyard. And was run by Coldplay.com only.

Did you mean hotseats for such gigs like warchild or normal concerts?
mc_squared
Seats are a joke anyway. It's got to be standing FTW every time.:smug:
laga
Fan clubs don't always work and sometimes you end up paying a decent amount of money for not much really and it's not worth it. And it also has happened that the "benefits" they gain in behalf of the club are only enjoyed by just a few people, namely the runners of the fan club. Moreover, you have to consider that there are true fans that don't have access to internet or time to spend on-line, but they totally love their music. It's complicated... One of the main problems with tickets, at least in my country, is that there are exclusive pre-sales for certain banks/credit cards that not the average fan has access to-but all scalpers do unsurprisingly :dozey:- so by the time tickets are available to people in general, all the good seats have been taken mainly by scalpers who later sell them on e-bay at ridiculous prices. If someone could solve this, there would be less drama everytime one of my favourite bands comes here, but it's a sort of arragement that these huge companies have among themselves so I don't see that happening anytime soon. laga
If Coldplay keeps being massive, and playing in big stadiums, theres no problem with the tickets thing.. yes, it's true. At least this time I GOT a ticket, not like in 2007 :disappointed: but I wish I hadn't had to tear my hair out for days waiting for the presale to end... Also, I accept evry credit card that's offered to me cuz I never know which one is gonna get me into a pre-sale next time, hahah:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

mamgirl
Although Coldplaying isn't the "official" fan club. It sure is the best as far as I'm concerned. It's my go-to spot for all things Coldplay. Plus it was through this website that I was able to get GA tickets in 2009 and I am currently awaiting my copy of LRLRL that I forgot to pick up at said concert. This website and the people who use it rock! :)
