No, there were no references. I can very hardly believe that story, Chris doesn't drink anything by now (and he's a vegetarian too) :)

Agreed. Drinking is not a bad thing, and I wouldn't care if Chris drank or occasionally got drunk. As long as he doesn't abuse alcohol (and he isn't), it doesn't really matter.

Everyone gets drunk once in a while.Nothing wrong with that (well unless it's too much or you drive). And Chris still drinks sometimes.There was this interview with Rolling Stones where the journalist said Chris had like a Guiness and a Whisky in two or three days

He and Will had an argument...Chris didn't kick him out, Will walked out after Chris was too hard on him. Chris went around to Guy's flat. Guy plied him with vodka and ribena then went out to meet his GF. When he came home Chris was unconscious on his bathroom floor.

 

Will and Chris made up and Chris didn't drink for a long time afterwards.

 

The award show where he was drunk was the Q awards 2001 after he had just split from his ex-GF Lily. He said some stupid things and then ran off.

 

Since then he has admitted to drinking whiskey (although both he and Simon Pegg say it makes him become someone cruel and nasty) but I don't think he drinks often. He says himself that he is annoying enough sober, without adding alcohol into the equation. :P

He got asked what kind of a drunk he was once in an interview and he said he was a mean drunk or something.

Yeah...Rolling Stone I think...maybe Spin. Says when he gets drunk he gets told needs to apologise to 20 people the next day.

 

Simon Pegg was also asked last year what to bring Chris from duty free as a gift and he said "anything but whiskey, it makes him really nasty"

From what I read of, in some interview which is missing now, Chris started cracking under the pressure and started taking it out on Will. He said a lot of shit, and Will walked out. He said in the interview he felt like he needed to punish himself, so apparently he knew he was drinking far too much but did it anyway. I never read that he actually passed out, though. The article said he just had his head in the toilet when Guy found him.

 

But still...it was rough time and I'm pretty sure Chris doesn't drink that much nowadays. Guy is the big drinker, I think.

LOL, I heard that too, but it seems super harsh since Will just picked up the drums, so obviously he had to go through the learning curve :dozey::rolleyes:

He said that he would be calling Will shit if he missed the beat, and that's why Will chose to leave. Personally, I don't blame him, but we also have to realize that Chris was just going through some really tough emotional/stress/mental health times.

 

And again, the topic is sensitive, and in other interviews, Chris has tried to cover up the subject with jokes. It's something they don't like talking about, and I don't think the Oracle would answer such a personal question.

 

Edit: They've forgiven each other by now, though. So it's all good.
