Albums You Regret Buying

Featured Replies

What albums do you look at and think "WOAH! Big mistake" or "What a waste of my money"?

For me it's an easy choice. The first two Kaiser Chiefs albums are without doubt my most embarrassing buys. In fact it's got so bad that I've removed the two albums from my album collection in to a separate pile of its own. I don't want their name alongside the likes of U2, The Beatles, Coldplay, Oasis, The Smiths, Elbow, Embrace etc.

BAD TIMES!

Ages 8 through 14. Actually begged my parents to buy Hilary Duff and Lizzie McGuire CDs. Even the soundtracks to her movies and TV shows. From a younger age Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, N*SYNC, KidzBop and any other KidzBop type "kids singing pop songs that suck" records. Pink... And I only liked her for that week. And sometimes even now I act too impulsive. Because I liked one song (basically because my friends forced it on me) I allowed myself to buy an album of this God awful "musician". I can't even say the name or album title. it's THAT bad.

I used to like Fueled By Ramen (the record label) So I was big into Paramore, Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is... and Panic! at the Disco. Those CDs are laying around somewhere on a dirty floor. I ditched all these CDs either after the first listen or years later after I came to my senses.

EDIT: As for bands and musicians I like that have let me down... There's one Sigur Ros record I will never listen to again.

Xuxa and Bom Bom Chip

it was the music kids liked when i was 8 here, my parents bought it just to annoy me and as they thought it was the "normal or good" music a kid that age should listen.

as hey did with the Barbie a year later. :\

back then i already listened to artists as The Police and Mike Oldfield (from my dad's collection), but seems nobody believed that or something or they tried to check me and bring me to mainstream garbage music :dozey:

LOL @ Embrace being a classic band

I don't regret any of mine, my tastes change, I look back on my old music with fond memories

Yeah....I want to believe you but somehow because it's you I just can't......ok Mr Meldrew?

The first two Kaiser Chiefs albums

Ditto (apart from the song 'Ruby' - quite like that one - but the rest are pants!)

plus.. Be Here Now - Oasis. Complete waste of effort...

and the most embarrassing... G4

:uhoh:

I just remembered I use to LOVE My Chemical Roomance and was VERY disappointed with their "Parade" album. :inquisitive: Other than that I don't really like Kid A by Radiohead. And I know some people will call me crazy but the Bends wasn't all that good.

I also liked the Kooks a lot for a while. I loved their first album and so I had to get their second. That completely put me off their music for life. The third Interpol album, I also didn't like. Now I don't care for them at all.

Baha Men when I was like 7. :uhoh::facepalm:

I just laughed out loud.

But that's still not as bad as owning Spice World (Spice Girls Movie Soundtrack). I have a history of buying crappy music.

hahaha

i'm not even gonna lie to you, i can rock out to some Spice Girls. :P

but yes, me too. my sisters always laugh at me about how bad my taste in music used to be. i had A-TEENS, American Juniors (lmao), Hannah Montana, Hoku... gahh.

And I know some people will call me crazy but the Bends wasn't all that good.

You're crazy..!

:P

I'm not a massive RH fan, but The Bends is just perfection..I love it. :)

I was disappointed by Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes, but then I don't remember actually paying for it...so...who cares..;)

@ i♥C.MART - I listened to all of those artists. I remember watching American Juniors, singing along to Hoku and learning A*TEENS dance moves. :shame:

@ Paula - I don't know why I dislike the bends. :stunned: what on Earth is wrong with me?

I'm so glad you agree. At least I don't seem so crazy. :uhoh:

I didn't want to confess to that here but same with Paul.

X&Y is a hit and miss for coldplay fans i think. I love it myslef the one album i regret paying ANYTHING for is In Rainbows. Not saying its not good, but i regret paying anything for it.

Minutes to Midnight - Linkin Park

i waited 4yrs for this album. out of the 200-odd albums i have listened to over the last few years it is by far the worst. the band was my favourite band in the world by a long way before this release. now i can hardly remember the last time i put in one of their cd's.

There's too many to keep count of

In Rainbows was nothing special to me. I wouldn't have paid for it.
