Chapter 2

"I'll take one of those," Chris said, pointing through the glass at the chocolate-covered strawberries.

"And one of those," he added, pointing at the chocolate covered orange.

Jonny closed his eyes and made a face.

Chris looked at him with blazing eyes.

"Don't you want anything, Jon?" he asked.

"No," Jonny said, "the sweet smell is choking me now."

"Ahem," the little lady behind the counter was trying to get Chris' attention, but he was still looking at Jonny.

"Anything else?" she asked.

Chris looked at her as if she were a two-headed loon.

"Certainly," he said, rubbing his hands together.

She rolled her eyes.

"There is only one thing left that you haven't bought," she said.

"Then I'll take it too," Chris said.

The lady took a deep breath and reached for a little greased paper bag.

She totaled up his order.

"That's $637.42," she told him.

Chris smiled at Jonny.

"Look," he said, "It's magical. It ends in the number 42."

"Why is that number magical?" the lady asked.

Chris looked at her with large, blue eyes.

"Some things are just too intrinsic for regular people to understand," he said.

She shot him a look that said, "Screw you."

But she didn't say anything.

She just shoved the huge package across the counter at him, really hard.

Chris almost fell down.

Out on the street, Chris was struggling along with the weight of the package of chocolate goodies.

Jonny was walking along, with his hands in his pockets, laughing at him.

"Maybe if I eat something it will lighten the load," Chris said, digging into one of the bags.

Four blocks later, the load wasn't any lighter, but Chris' face was covered in chocolate.

"Jonny," he said, "I could use a little help here," he said.

"I'm not carrying your shit," Jonny told him, with a smile.

"Well, at least hold it while I wipe my face," Chris said.

Jonny looked at him and lifted one eyebrow.

He pushed Chris into an alley and up against a wall.

He proceeded to kiss up and down Chris's face, licking off the leftover chocolate.

Then he ran his tongue across Chris' lips and bit his bottom lip slightly.

"There," Jonny said, "I did my part. Your face is clean."

Chapter 3

Chris was dancing around the room, spastically.

Because that's the only way that Chris knew how to dance.

Whether it was a Pavarotti song from an opera or God Save the Queen, it didn't matter.

Chris would dance spastically.

He was wearing his new wireless headphones by Snoop Dogg called Skull Crushers.

Jonny was sitting on the sofa, trying to read Soccer World magazine.

He couldn't concentrate because Chris kept dancing by and whirling in circles.

He reminded Jonny of one of those whirling dervishes of African tribal legends.

Chris danced out of sight and Jonny went back to the magazine.

He still didn't understand the apparent greatness of David Beckham, although his wife was cute, even if she did have the appearance of

a frigid teen-age boy.

Just as he turned the page, Chris whacked him on the back of the head with one of his bony little arms that he was flailing about.

"Shit, Chris. Watch it!" he yelled.

Chris didn't hear him.

He was still dancing and flailing about.

Jonny got up and walked over to him.

He caught him in mid-turn and yanked the headphones off his head.

"What are you listening to?" Jonny asked.

Chris had a very embarrassed look on his face, as if he was caught by his mother in the bathroom with his favorite magazine.

"Ah, it's that bad, huh?" Jonny asked.

Chris reached for the headphones.

Jonny yanked them away.

He put them on his own ears and listened.

Jonny only listened for a minute.

He burst out laughing and handed them back to Chris.

"Go ahead," Jonny said, "Sing a little bit for me."

"I kissed a girl and I liked it," Chris sang in a quiet voice.

Jonny laughed and went back to his magazine.

"It is a good song," Chris said.

"I know," Jonny said, "Just sounds weird to hear those words coming from your mouth."

Jonny had just flung the magazine down in boredom when Chris came dancing by again.

Jonny knew he shouldn't do it, but he couldn't stop himself.

He stuck out his leg and Chris, who of course didn't see it, went flying.

He flew right into Jonny's lap.

Jonny took the headphones from Chris.

Chris looked at Jonny and began to sing: "I kissed a boy, and I really, really, loved it."

i'm just gonna post this here, there's only gonna be one more part after this i think.

My Star is Fading

Part 9

“Thank you for staying with me,” Chris said, smiling at me.

“Anytime.”

“Do you want me to tell you a story?”

“Sure.”

“The first time... it happened...”

“Oh, Chris, you don't have to talk about that.”

“No, I want to. I want you to know what happened, and I want to tell you.” He looked down at the bed he was lying on and sighed. “The first time it happened, it was a few weeks after she and I moved in together. She wasn't herself anymore. She'd started using. So, one day she came home and I asked her about it. She got angry with me, and she... but I was only worried about her, Jonny. I just wanted to know what was going on.”

“I believe you.”

“She just got so angry, and... I thought it would be a one-time thing. I hoped it would be. But then, a few days later, it happened again, then a few days after that, and a few days after that... then eventually it was everyday. Sometimes... sometimes it was more than once a day.”

“Oh, Chris...”

“I thought it was 'cause I was weak or something. Weak and stupid. And I deserved what she did.” His eyes were filled with tears at this point. “But I know it wasn't true, Jonny, I know that I wasn't weak and it wasn't my fault. It's just... when she started, she'd always trap me somehow. She'd pin me up against the wall or back me into a corner. I just became so afraid of her. I could barely even be in the same room without... p-panicking.”

“I'm so sorry. Things like that, they shouldn't happen- well, they shouldn't happen at all, but especially not to people like you. You're too... lovely.”

“I'm nothing compared to you. You saved me, Jonny. I don't think I could ever repay you.”

“You've already done that Chris. I couldn't ask for more than just being with you. I love you so much.”

“I love you, too.” He smiled and wiped away some of the tears that were streaming down his cheek. “Oh, look at us, two grown men crying like a couple of schoolgirls.”

“Ah, you're the only one who's crying.”

“Well... yeah.”

“But if it makes you feel better, I'm crying on the inside.”

“You know,” he laughed. “That does make me feel better. Thanks.”

“You're very welcome, Christopher.” I lifted my hand and brushed my fingers through his hair.

“Since when do you call me Christopher?”

“Since right now, Christopher. Why, don't you like it?” He crinkled his nose.

“The only person I know- well, besides you- who calls me Christopher is my mum.”

“Hm. I can see how that would be a bit awkward for you, then. What if I called you Chrissy?”

“Chrissy?”

“You just aren't happy with anything, are you? I'm guessing you'd like for me to call you Chris,” I said, rolling my eyes.

“That would be nice... but I suppose you can call me Chrissy if you really want. But I get to call you Jonny J-man whenever I want!”

“Chrissy and Jonny J-man... I like it.”

“We're so weird.,” Chris laughed.

“Yeah, but it's a good kind of weird, isn't it? As long as we're happy, right? That's all that matters.”

“Oh, yes, very happy. It's the most important thing in the world.” He smiled and added, “Next to you.”

where are the other 8 chapters? i would very much like to read them :D

I Looked Up at the Sky

Part 7

It was a beautiful summer night. The setting sun streaked the clouded sky with a magnificent shade of pink. A rather large group of people, including Chris, Jonny, Will, Guy, and Dianna, were assembled in the fenced backyard of Dianna's parents' house.

Over the nearly seven months that had passed since Guy had started dating Dianna, she and the four men had gotten to know each other very well. So well, in fact, that she invited them to the family gathering her parents were having. Her father was barbecuing several hamburgers (a veggie burger for Chris) and hot dogs on the grill. Chris and Jonny were talking to her mom. Will was off chatting with one of her relatives about some Playstation game that had just been released. She and Guy were sitting in the corner of the yard.

"The sky looks lovely, doesn't it?" she remarked.

"Yeah, it does," he replied. "But not as lovely as you." She looked right at Guy, blushing.

"You're too kind."

"Hey, Dianna!" She turned around to see a group of three men waving at her from the doorway.

"Oh, God, my cousins are here," she said, turning back to Guy. "I've got to go socialize, it seems."

"Have fun."

"Yeah, I'll try." She stood up and made her way over to the men. Chris almost immediately sat down in her spot.

"I was right. Looks like you've found what you were looking for, eh?" he asked.

"Yeah, the Chris to my Jonny, right?"

"You know, everyone says that, but it's terrificly unfair to me. All I have is a Jonny to my Chris."

"Aw, poor you," Guy laughed. "Do you need a hug?"

"Whoa, Guy, I'm happily taken."

"Yeah, me too." He looked over at Dianna. She looked a bit uncomfortable talking to her cousins, but she was laughing. Guy thought she looked stunning when she laughed.

"Are you gonna marry her?"

"I was planning on it," Guy said, pulling a box out of his pocket and flashing a gorgeous ring.

"Oh, wow," Chris said, admiring the ring. "Good luck, mate."

"Thanks."

"When are you gonna ask her?"

"I was thinking about doing it sometime tonight, bu-"

"What are you waiting for? DIANNA!" Chris shouted. "Get over here!"

"What is it?" she asked when she finally reached the pair.

"Oh, is that Jonny calling me?" Chris stood up, and as he walked away he squeaked, "Toodles!"

Dianna watched Chris walk away, a confused expression on her face, then turned back to Guy. "So...?"

"You're beautiful, you know that?" Once again, she blushed and looked down.

"Thank you. Was that all you wanted?"

"Marry me." Guy held out the ring, and Dianna covered her mouth with her hand in surprise.

"Yes," she said, and he slipped the ring on her finger. Then he wrapped his arms around here and puller her close.

"I love you so much," he said.

"I love you, too. There isn't anyone I'd rather spend my life with."

Theeee Endddd!

So, if you don't remember, I was working on a fanfic based on Guy and Arlene and I'm sorry if I haven't updated. I was on vacation in London and didn't have the time. However, here it is, finally updated!

One I Love, Chapter VI

“So, Arlene…welcome to my place,” said Guy as the two entered a posh looking townhouse in north London.

“It’s really nice,” she said, a bit nervous to add anything else to her statement.

“Uh, make yourself at home. There’s an extra bedroom if you feel uncomfortable staying with me, but I don’t mind and there’s extra drawer and closet space for your clothes.” Guy led her to his room and Arlene plopped her suitcase on the floor.

“I’ll stay with you if you’re definitely sure about it.” Guy smiled in response.

“I am.”

---

They had gone to bed early after she had made them a quick dinner of bowtie pasta, along with a glass of wine apiece. Arlene woke up the next morning not sprawled out all over the bed, but being held close by a lanky and muscular arm. She smelled his wonderful scent of cigarette smoke and cologne, even though she hated it that he did smoke. He looked so peaceful and she decided not to wake him up.

“He deserves the sleep; all he’s been doing is touring!”

Arlene got out of bed and was ready to go take a shower. However, his iPhone went off to a Joy Division song and Guy groggily tried to grab it off of his nightstand. Arlene stood there, frozen, recognizing at once who it was when Guy started talking.

“Okay, Jo, no problem. Er, yeah. Just bring Nico on by. Go do what you have to do. Okay. See you in twenty minutes. Bye.” He stared at disheveled Arlene, who was trying not to make eye contact with him.

“That was Jo. She has something today; didn’t really divulge in the details, but she’s coming to leave Nico over here. I thought maybe the three of us could go out for breakfast and then maybe the zoo?”

Arlene only nodded her head.

“You alright there?”

“I’m fine Guy. I’m going to go take a quick shower, okay? I’ll be right out.” Guy, however, got out of bed.

“You’re not leaving until I get a proper good morning from you, Arlene.” She couldn’t help but smile and succumb to his sexiness. Arlene kissed him and he deepened it.

“See you in a bit,” he said, slowly letting her go.

---

Arlene could hear faint voices as she slipped on her clothes and pulled back her damp hair in a messy ponytail. She waited to hear the front door shut, so as not to have an encounter with Jo. Five minutes of pacing around in the bathroom, the door sounded and she went to find Guy. He was sitting on the sofa, balancing little Nico, with one of his wide smiles glued on his face. She admired him as he played with his daughter, seeing that he was a complete natural.

“Daddy, who’s that?”

“That is Arlene, Nico. You’ve met her before from those times you’ve seen me perform. She’s very nice; I’m sure you’ll love her.” He gestured for Arlene to get closer and she bent down to Nico’s level.

“My, you’re a pretty girl. I like your dress,” she said. Nico smiled and Arlene sighed in relief. The little girl approved of her.

“Thank you,” said Nico, shyly.

“So, whaddya say I go get showered and dressed and the three of us will go get breakfast, Nic?”

“Okay, daddy.” Guy pressed a kiss to Nico’s cheek and one to Arlene’s as well. Arlene sat down with the girl and Nico asked for a story. Arlene remembered that her mom would tell her the story of “A Little Princess” and decided to retell it to Nico. They were halfway done by the time Guy had come out, ready to go.

“But Arlene hasn’t finished the story about Princess Sara!” exclaimed Nico.

“I’m sure she’d love to tell you the rest when we come back from the zoo.”

“We’re going to the zoo?”

“Mh-hmm.”

“Yay!”

---

They had breakfast at some café nearby his townhouse and then they drove over to the London Zoo, paid admission and for about three hours, they looked around. Arlene and Guy would alternate holding Nico’s hand as they went through the different parts of the zoo. Nico especially liked the lions and, of course, the butterfly exhibit. She fell asleep in Arlene’s arms.

“Let’s get her home, eh Arlene?” he suggested, taking Nico out of Arlene’s arms and cradling her in his. When they had gotten home, Guy tucked Nico underneath a blanket Jo had packed and he and Arlene sat next to each other on the couch.

“Was today okay? I know it was a bit short notice but-”

“Today was perfect, Guy. Nico’s so sweet. Don’t worry about it. I’m your tour manager. I deal with short notice on a daily, no hourly basis. You may not notice it, but you’re such a great daddy.”

“Well, you wouldn’t make such a bad mother yourself.” Arlene was about to say something, but Nico stirred and her first words out of her mouth were, “Can we finish the story?” Guy chuckled, carried Nico in his lap and Arlene finished “A Little Princess.” Poor Nico had cried a bit nearing the end, feeling sympathy for Sara, but perked up when she found out that Sara had become a ‘princess’ once again. Jo called, and said she was coming over to pick up Nico. Arlene wanted to go and hide out in Guy’s room but he insisted that she stay. When Jo arrived, she hugged Guy and warmly greeted Arlene.

“It’s lovely to see you again, Arlene. Good to know Guy’s found himself such a nice girl. And Nico seems to adore you!”

“Oh my god. She doesn’t hate the fact I’m dating her ex-husband?”

“Thank you, Joanna! It was nice to see you again too!”

“We must do lunch or something. Just call; Guy’s got my number. Nic, come on. Let’s go.” Nico gave Guy and Arlene a huge hug and they left.

“So…I guess everything’s going to plan then, huh?” asked Guy.

“If I had any doubts, they’re gone now.”

Nothing Much

After all the clothes talk yesterday...a silly little pointless chapter.

Chapter 4

"Jonny, sit still," Chris said.

"I'm trying to," Jonny answered, "But you keep sticking me with those damn pins."

"This will never fit right if I don't get the sleeves even," Chris told him, taking another stick pin from his mouth and

pushing it into the fabric.

"Ouch!!" Jonny yelled.

He made such a weird face that Chris laughed in spite of himself.

"I'm glad you are amused at my pain," Jonny said, angrily.

"Don't be such a baby," Chris said, rubbing his hand across the days worth of stubble on Jonny's chin.

"I hate that," Jonny said, "Those little pinpricks are like paper cuts, just annoying as hell."

"I'm almost finished," Chris told him, "Them all I have to do is sew the hem and you will have a new shirt."

"You should be making yourself a new shirt," Jonny told him, "You only own like three or four total."

Chris was measuring and concentrating on his work.

"I only need three or four," he replied, "Those are the only ones that I trust."

"You trust your clothes?" Jonny asked.

Chris stepped back and looked at him in surprise.

"Yes," he said, "It takes a long time to develop a relationship with a shirt and once you do....you really don't need that many others."

"I remember what happened when you discovered a hole in your Flaming Lips t-shirt," Jonny told him.

Chris put his hands over his face.

"I can't talk about that," he said.

"Well, it was a nice little burial service we had," Jonny admitted.

Chris smacked Jonny on the head.

"I told you I can't talk about that," he said, "It's just too traumatic."

Jonny looked at him and saw that he was completely serious.

"Maybe if you had a few more clothes, you wouldn't be so emotionally attached to them," Jonny suggested.

Chris put a hand on Jonny's shoulder.

"Are you trying to distract me with all this talk of clothing murder?" he asked.

Jonny looked at him and smiled.

"If I wanted to distract you, I would do this," Jonny said.

He picked up the sewing scissors from the table and stuck the pointed end against Chris' chest.

Chris looked at him with wide, scared eyes.

"Not the shirt, Jon," he said.

Jonny smiled and nodded.

He started at the hem and sliced Chris' shirt in half.

"That's better," Jonny said, as he leaned forward and began to kiss on Chris.

"I loved this shirt," Chris said, closing his eyes.

"I'll get you another one," Jonny said, "Just like it."

"You are too good to me," Chris said.

Ulysses or An Idle King

Chapter 1

Jonny was sitting on the end of the pier dragging one foot in the water.

The sun was just going down over the edge of the mountains that could be seen in the far away distance.

A chill was creeping into the air and he was thinking of starting back to the main house.

He heard the creaking of the boards behind him and he knew that someone was approaching.

"Hey" Guy said, handing Jonny a bottle of beer.

He sat down beside Jonny and swung long, tan legs over the end of the pier.

"Hey," Jonny said, taking a long swig from the bottle.

"You have been out here all day," Guy said, "What gives?"

Jonny looked far into the distance and concentrated on a stray cloud passing over the top of the mountain.

"Nothing," he said, "Just enjoying the scenery."

Guy studied Jonny's face.

He knew that it was much more than what Jonny said, but he didn't want to push him on it either.

"Where's Will?" Jonny asked.

"Up at the house," Guy told him, "Still sitting in his room."

Jonny looked at him, quizzically.

"It's been two days," Jonny said.

"I know," Guy nodded, taking a sip of beer.

"He usually isn't so moody," Jonny said.

"Yeah," Guy answered, sadly, "Not like Chris."

Jonny smiled slightly.

"Not like Chris," he repeated.

"Have you heard from him?" Guy asked.

Jonny shook his head.

"That little prick," Guy said.

Jonny looked at him and his eyes flashed.

"Don't talk like that about him," he said, "I won't have it."

"I'm sorry," Guy said, "It seems as if you and I are caught in the middle of this."

Jonny nodded.

Guy continued, "I just hate to see Will so upset."

Jonny slapped Guy on his thigh.

"I know," he said, "You and I had the great misfortune to fall in love with a couple of headstrong autocrats."

Guys' phone buzzed.

"I gotta go," he said, jumping up and finishing the beer in one swallow.

"Will?" Jonny asked.

Guy nodded.

Then he smiled and hurried away down the pier.

Jonny watched him go.

When Guy reached the end of the pier he started running head long across the grassy lawn to the house.

"How cool," Jonny thought, "I remember when it used to be like that for me and Chris."

Ulysses

Chapter 2

Jonny was lying on his back with his hands under his head contemplating the pattern of shadows as they were cast on the ceiling.

He wondered where Chris was.

Chris had been gone for two days.

He had left just after the fight with Will.

Jonny tried to call him at first.

Then he just got really angry.

Then he got worried again.

Now he was back to being pissed off.

God, Chris could be such a diva.

Such a self-righteous, self-centered, asshole.

Jonny wondered how he could love him.

That question seemed doomed to remain one of life's huge mysteries like the Loch Ness Monster and Area 51.

Sometimes Jonny thought he couldn't stand one more minute of Chris' dramatics.

But the next minute, he thought he couldn't breathe without him.

"This must be something akin to what hell feels like", Jonny thought.

Right now, Jonny was worried and he was missing Chris.

Missing his gorgeous blue eyes.

Missing his long, lanky frame cuddled up next to him.

Missing the smell of that imported soap that he used.

"If he would just come home..." Jonny thought.

Just as if on cue, Chris opened the bedroom door.

Jonny turned on his side to look at him.

"Are you okay?" Jonny asked.

Chris didn't answer.

He just walked across the room and stood at the window.

"Are you okay?" Jonny asked, this time a little louder.

Chris still didn't answer.

Jonny got up and walked to Chris.

"Dammit, this is bullshit," Jonny said, grabbing his arm.

Chris turned to look at him as if he was totally confused.

"What?" he asked.

"I was talking to you," Jonny said.

Chris looked ashamed.

"I'm so sorry, Jon" he said, leaning in to Jonny and hugging him gently, "I didn't hear you."

Jonny wanted to be pissed, but one touch from Chris and all his anger faded.

"That's okay," he told him.

Ulysses

Chapter 3

"I should have just slugged the little bastard," Will was saying to Guy.

Will was sitting in a big stuffed armchair in the suite he shared with Guy.

Guy was draped across Will's lap with his head resting on Will's shoulder.

"That would not have solved anything," Guy said.

"I would have felt better," Will said.

"Only for a moment, tough guy," Guy said, "And then you would have felt like shit."

Will looked at Guy and smiled.

"You know me so well," he told him.

"That's because I love you," Guy said.

"He'll get over it soon enough," Will said.

"Yes," Guy said, "And you two will be best friends again in no time."

"I know," Will said, "It just pisses me off.....that attitude of his."

"Don't let it get to you again," Guy advised.

Will looked at Guy's face.

"I'm such a bastard," he said.

Guy sat up and looked at him.

"Why?" he asked.

"Because I have you here....in this room.. this close to me and I am wasting time thinking about Chris and all the shit

he likes to pull."

"Yeah?" Guy asked, "What should you be doing?"

Will slipped his arms around Guy and stood up.

He carried him quietly to the bed and laid him down gently.

"I should be doing what I can to make you happy," he told him.

"Then come here and kiss me," Guy said.

Will slipped off his shirt and his khaki shorts.

Guy watched with a look of great appreciation on his face.

"You take my breath away every time," he said to Will.

Guy sat up and removed his shirt.

He started to unbutton his denim shorts.

"No," Will told him, "I want to do it this time."

Guy laid back on the bed and Will joined him, pushing his strong muscular body close to Guy.

The scratchy denim of Guy's shorts felt rough against Will's stomach.

Will ached to feel all of Guy's soft, sleek body and his fingers tore at the buttons of the shorts.

"Will....." a deep breath escaped from Guy as Will slid the shorts down his slender legs and tossed them aside.

Guy threw his head back and arched his back instinctively as Will kissed his way down his tanned body.

Both of them quite forgot all about Chris.

Chapter 4

"Jonny, I'm so scared," Chris said.

The two of them were lying on a blanket in a grove of oak trees.

"What's wrong, luv?" Jonny asked.

"I don't think I can do it anymore," Chris said, looking very sad.

"You mean write songs?" Jonny asked.

Chris nodded as he played with a blade of grass.

"I just feel empty. My mind feels like a blank sheet of paper. I'm afraid there's never going to be anything written on it."

"You are just pushing too hard," Jonny told him.

"Will hates everything I even try to write," Chris said.

"Don't let him get you down," Jonny told him.

Chris sat up and looked across the blanket at Jonny.

"The trouble is, Jon.....Will is right. All the new stuff just sucks."

Jonny didn't know what to say.

Chris was right.

He hadn't written a half-way decent song in more than a year.

"You don't have to say anything," Chris told Jonny, "I know it is true."

"I'm sorry," Jonny said, "I don't want to hurt you."

"I know," Chris said, "But lying to me won't help either."

"Maybe you are just tired," Jonny said, trying to sound hopeful.

"I just don't know," Chris said, shaking his head, "I used to write all the time. Some of it sucked, but some of it was really good.

I can't expect Will and Guy and you to stick around forever, hoping I get my shit together."

"Well, you know I will never leave," Jonny said.

Chris looked at him.

"Have the others said anything?" he asked.

Jonny shook his head.

"No," he said.

The look on Chris' face was killing Jonny.

"God, don't look like that," he told him, "I can't stand it."

"My whole life is disappearing," Chris said, in a husky voice, "My whole world is slipping away."

Jonny moved over to where Chris sat.

"I love you," Jonny told him.

"I love you too," Chris said, "But...."

"But what?" Jonny asked.

"But I just don't know if that is enough anymore," Chris said.

Jonny didn't move or speak.

He felt like Chris had stabbed him through the heart.

Chapter 5

Jonny went to dinner with Guy and Will.

Chris begged off saying he didn't feel well, but Jonny knew it was because he stil felt odd around Will.

Jonny took note of the behavior of Guy and Will.

They held hands sweetly at the table.

They shared one menu.

They drank out of the same glass, even though the waiter had brought them one each.

Will cut the steak and offered little bites of it to Guy on his fork.

Guy laughed and smiled when Will spilled soup down Guy's shirt and he tried to lick it off right there in the restaurant.

"Dessert?" Will asked.

Jonny noticed the look of desire that passed between Guy and Will.

"Maybe later," Guy said, laughing.

Jonny missed that kind of closeness and flirting with Chris.

"We used to be so much in love with each other," Jonny thought, remembering that time during a business meeting

when they had both excused themselves to go to the restroom and ended up having sex in one of the stalls.

Jonny missed waking up in the morning with Chris' warm breath on his neck.

Chris rarely slept at all now and if he did it was usually for a nap on the sofa.

Jonny missed the feel of Chris' hands and fingers caressing his body to sleep at night.

Now, he was lucky to get a hug from Chris, since he was so occupied with his latest problems.

He looked at Guy and Will again.

They were totally in their own world, whispering and laughing to each other.

"I'm taking off," Jonny told them, taking out some money for his portion of the meal.

Jonny took his time walking back to the house.

It was a nice night and he enjoyed the flower-perfumed stroll.

Chris wasn't there when Jonny got back.

As usual, there was no note or any indication of where he had gone.

Jonny crawled into bed and fell asleep.

He awoke to soft warm kisses on the back of his neck.

"Chris....." he said, smiling.

"How did you know?" Chris joked.

"I would know those soft lips anywhere," Jonny said.

"I've missed you so much," Chris said, softly.

Jonny smiled and turned over to face Chris.

"It feels so good to have you touch me again," Jonny told him.

"I'm sorry I ever stopped," Chris whispered.

Jonny ran a hand through Chris' blonde curls.

"It hurts when you are so far away," Jonny told him.

"You are my greatest joy," Chris said.

Chapter 6

"Are you ever going to speak to me again?" Jonny asked.

Chris was just staring at the wall.

He didn't answer.

"You know I have to go," he said, folding a shirt and placing it inside his travel bag.

"So you say," Chris said, taking a deep breath.

"I'm sorry," Jonny told him, "But I promised my brother a long time ago that we would take this trip."

Chris looked down at his hands.

"What am I supposed to do without you?" he asked.

Jonny didn't answer.

He reached into his closet for more clothes to pack.

"You never notice if I am here half the time anyway," Jonny thought to himself.

"I never expected you to leave me," Chris said, quietly.

Jonny tossed a pair of socks into the bag.

"Dammit, Chris, don't be so dramatic and so paranoid," he said, with a little more anger in his voice than he intended.

"I'm not leaving you....I'm going to visit my brother."

"Same thing," Chris murmured.

"No, it isn't," Jonny said forcefully.

"Are you leaving because I can't write any decent songs anymore?" Chris asked, looking at Jonny sadly.

"You are so full of yourself," Jonny told him, "Maybe I am going because I want to see my brother and maybe I am going...."

Jonny zipped up his bag.

"What?" Chris asked, "You didn't finish."

Jonny sat down on the bed.

"Maybe I am going because I could use some distance from you," Jonny finished.

Chris stood up and walked to the window.

"Are you coming back?" Chris asked.

"I don't know," Jonny said, "Probably."

It hurt every cell in Jonny's body to admit that to Chris and to himself.

"I hate you right now," Chris said, slowly.

Jonny stood up and picked up his bag.

"I knew you would," he said.

Jonny walked to the door and opened it to leave.

He turned to look at Chris one more time.

"Once he was everything to me," Jonny thought, "Now...."

Jonny surprised himself by feeling nothing as he walked away and shut the door.

Chapter 7

"How long are you staying?" Tim asked.

"Why?"

"I don't know. You just came to visit so we could take that kayaking trip and you've stayed two weeks," Tim said.

"I like it here," Jonny said, "So free of all the tension and crap at home."

Tim smiled and winked at him.

"Are you sure it doesn't have something to do with Shannon?" he asked.

Jonny smiled in spite of himself and blushed a little.

"What makes you think that?" he asked.

"You and he have been spending a lot of time together," Tim said, "Not that I mind. I think it is good for you."

"He's alright," Jonny said, "I can be myself around him."

"Does that mean it is over with you and Mr. Paranoid?" Tim asked.

Jonny's face tensed up and a dark cloud seemed to appear over his entire persona.

"I haven't thought about it," he said.

"I noticed that you haven't talked to him since you have been here," Tim said, "That's really weird considering you used to call each other ten times a day."

"I don't want to talk about it," Jonny said.

"Okay," Tim said.

Jonny's phone rang.

He looked at the number and grinned slyly.

"Hey," he said, softly.

"Would you like to go to a movie?" Shannon asked.

"I think Tim has a date," Jonny replied, "But I'd like to go. If that's okay."

"God, I sound like a dork," Jonny thought to himself.

"That's great," Shannon said, "I'll meet you at the theater around seven and maybe we can have a drink afterwards."

"I would like that," Jonny said.

Tim looked at Jonny suspiciously after he hung up.

"What?" Jonny asked.

"Where did you get this information about this mysterious date that I am supposed to have?" he asked.

"Oh....that...well..."Jonny stammered.

Tim laughed and slapped Jonny on the shoulder.

"It's okay," he said, "I think it is kind of cute that you wanted to spend time alone with Shannon."

Jonny looked thoughtfully at his brother.

"He's okay, right?" Jonny asked.

"Shannon?" Tim asked, "Yeah, he is a great guy. Stable, dependable, reliable, a real solid type. That's why he's my good friend."

Jonny nodded.

"I could certainly stand to have someone like that in my life," Jonny said, "I've had enough of the tempestuous type."

In Confusion Confidence

2: Afflicted

I was stabbed.

As a young kid, everything scared me and intrigued me at the same time. Everything confused me and everything pained me. But not like now.

A sudden noise came from a distance. My head was pounding as I lay on a cold, hard surface. Someone had opened a door, letting in a ray of light. It was blinding, this thing causing the noise stomped closer to me after shutting the door loudly. I could hear sounds of things being moved here and there, then silence. Then it started again.

I lay in confusion, afraid to move, afraid to breathe. For the five seconds my eyes were open, I made out nothing but darkness. This person, whoever it was, had me tied up and gagged. My mind was a combination of fear and confusion. The person bent down, looking at me. He was close enough that I could make out his outline. Largely built and lack of hair lead me to believe he was, indeed, male. He stood up and suddenly, I was kicked at the knee, he did it twice, but I was too cloaked with fear to feel anything. The thing in my mouth was yanked out and my ragged breathing soon echoed throughout the room. Just then I felt a cool liquid run between my thighs. Shit.

Then he spoke.

“Miss me Chrissy?” I felt a pang inside me. His voice was loud, booming even. It was a mix of mock, anger and...distress. I flinched from his abrupt laughter.

He stabbed me, not literally and not by his words, but from his voice. A little boy who no one wanted to be around, walked with no confidence, misery always hung over me, went everywhere I went. Anyone near me and the misery would scurry. Who wanted to be miserable like me? In short, he came along and like a saviour held out his hand. He became my friend.

As happy as that sounds, it isn’t at all. Hearing his voice now, all those forgotten memories came rushing back. He had afflicted me with a curse.

He spoke again, plunging the sword deeper.

Chapter 8

"Have you seen this?" Will asked, handing a sheet of paper to Guy and kissing him on the neck.

Guy grinned and giggled just a little cute giggle.

"What?" he asked.

"It's Chris' latest attempt at writing a song," Will said, pulling Guy's shirt collar to one side and kissing him on the shoulder.

"I can't think when you do that," Guy told him.

"You smell sensational," Will purred.

Guy dropped the piece of paper in the floor and turned to face Will, gently brushing his lips against Will's cheek.

"What's on the paper?" he asked again.

"A new song," Will said, kissing his way down Guy's throat.

"Yeah?" Guy asked, closing his eyes, "Is it any good?"

"Uh huh," Will said, untucking Guy's shirt from his jeans.

"Wait.....wait a second," Guy said, stopping Will, "It's a good song?"

"Yeah," Will said, walking across the room and sitting down in a chair, "As a matter of fact, it is very, very good."

"That's fantastic," Guy said, "So his writer's block is gone?"

"I think so," Will said.

Guy sank down into another chair.

"Thank God," he said, "I was really starting to get worried."

"Do you think Jonny will come back now?" Will asked.

Guy made a face and twisted his bottom lip.

"I don't know," he said, "He sounded really happy a few days ago when I talked to him."

"Did Chris talk to him?" Will asked.

Guy shook his head slowly.

"Shit," Will said, "I'm guessing he doesn't know about this other guy?"

Guy shook his head again.

"He will freak when he finds out," Will said.

Guy shrugged.

"Maybe not," he said.

Will looked at Guy suspiciously.

"What do you know?" he asked.

"I know that I love you," Guy said.

"Don't change the subject," Will said, smiling.

"I know that I never want us to be like those two," Guy told him.

"No worries," Will said.

"I know that Chris hasn't exactly been alone lately," Guy said.

Will whistled.

"That certainly makes things more interesting, now doesn't it?" he asked.

Chapter 9

Jonny was sitting on the sofa in Shannon's apartment.

He was watching Shannon search through his DVD collection for a particular movie.

Shannon was everything that Chris wasn't.

He had black hair and hazel eyes.

He was a landscape architect and he worked outisde all day.

His hands were rough and worn and his body was muscular and tan.

He laughed all the time and was always open to new ideas.

"Damn, I can't find it," Shannon said.

Jonny laughed.

"Don't worry about it," he said.

And he knew that unlike Chris, Shannon wouldn't worry about it.

He never seemed to worry about anything.

Just being around him made Jonny's entire disposition so much brighter.

"What do you want to do instead of the movie?" Shannon asked.

"We could make out," Jonny said.

Shannon laughed, but then his eyes turned soft.

"Are you flirting with me?" he asked.

"I'm not sure," Jonny said, "I'm trying to, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right."

"You are so cute," Shannon told him.

"Cute....not exactly what I was going for," Jonny said, "But I'll take it anyway."

Shannon scooted closer to Jonny and looked into his eyes.

"I'm very attracted to you," he told Jonny, "The question is how do you feel?"

"I think you are gorgeous," Jonny said, "And I love being with you. You make me feel relaxed."

"So, what are we doing here?" Shannon asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, are we starting a relationship or are we just playing around?"

"I don't do so well with playing around," Jonny told him, "I prefer to be serious."

Shannon smiled.

"So do I," he said, "But I know you have to go back to your other life at some point."

Jonny took a deep breath.

"No one says I have to go back," he said, "I've had quite enough of that life."

"I would really like it if you would stay here with me," Shannon told him.

"You mean tonight?" Jonny asked.

Shannon kissed Jonny on the end of his nose.

"No," he said, "I mean permanently."

Jonny looked shocked.

"But we just talked about this.....we haven't even kissed yet," Jonny stammered.

"I know what I want," Shannon said, "And what I want is you."

"Things are so simple with you," Jonny said, quietly.

"I'm a simple man," Shannon told him, "No worries, no complications, no drama."

"Yes,"Jonny said, "I will stay here with you."

Chapter 10

Two weeks later Jonny returned to the house where the band had been staying.

He was greeted warmly by Will, Guy and Chris.

Will and Guy quickly made their excuses and disappeared.

"They are probably going to sneak off to their room and make out," Chris said.

"Like we used to do," Jonny said, quietly.

Chris looked at him sadly.

"I've been writing again," he told Jonny.

"So I hear," Jonny said, "Will says its' good."

"Yeah, what a relief," Chris said.

They both laughed.

"Look, Jon...I'm sorry about all that before," Chris said, "It was just a really bad time."

"It's always a bad time with you," Jonny said, quietly.

Chris opened his mouth to speak.

"I'm with someone else," Jonny said.

"I know," Chris said, without looking at him.

"God, this is hard," Jonny said.

"Will you come back to the band?" Chris asked.

"Of course," Jonny said, "I will always be part of the band."

"That's good," Chris said.

"I really did love you," Jonny said, "For what it's worth."

"It will be hard to live without you," Chris said, honestly, "But I'll do it."

"You will be fine," Jonny said.

"This new guy.....what's he like?" Chris asked.

"Different than you," Jonny said.

"So he treats you good, huh?" Chris said.

Jonny nodded.

"I'm glad," Chris said, "You deserve better than you got from me."

"I have to go now," Jonny told him.

"Would a goodbye hug be out of order?" Chris asked.

"I think it would be okay," Jonny said.

They approached each other cautiously.

Finally, they barely touched and lightly hugged.

Jonny knew it was a mistake as soon as he felt Chris touch him.

The tears filled his eyes and he couldn't make them stop until they were streaming down his face in a full flood.

Chris hugged him tighter and Jonny smelled that wonderful fragrance from the soap that Chris always used.

The same smell that used to be all over Chris' pillow.

"I love you, Jonny, "Chris said, "Please remember that. I never meant to mistreat you."

"I know," Jonny said, "It's just how you are."

Chris pushed him away.

"Go Jonny.....just go...Go be happy...."

"I will," Jonny said, wiping his eyes.

Chris watched him turn away and walk out the door.

Then he crumpled to the floor as if in slow-motion, and cried.

The end

Tired

Part 1

Jonny sat on the floor of his flat, absentmindedly staring at the wall. He'd been sitting like that for three hours.

Three hours. It had already been three hours since Chris left. Jonny still couldn't comprehend what had happened. They were so happy together. He thought they were, anyway. Just a few days before Chris was telling him he loved him, and that nothing would ever change that. He was gone now.

Earlier that day, Jonny had been playing a soccer match against Will. He lost. As he walked home, he thought about calling Chris to see if he wanted to hang out that night. To his surprise (and delight), he opened his door to see that Chris was already there. He was sitting on a chair up against the wall.

"Hey-" Jonny happily began, until he noticed that Chris was crying. "What's wrong?"

"I can't do this anymore, Jonny," Chris muttered.

"Do what?"

"This. Us." Chris looked up at Jonny. His eyes were watery, and his cheeks were red from wiping the tears away. "I'm sorry, but it's just draining all my energy to have to lie and sneak around all the time."

"But we agreed. We agreed that we shouldn't tell anyone else."

"I know, and at the time it's what I wanted. Well, it's what you wanted, but I was OK with it." Chris took a deep breath and continued, "It's just too much for me to handle now. I'm sorry."

"Are you saying you want to... to end it?" Jonny asked.

"I'm sorry," Chris repeated, standing up to Jonny and placing his hand on Jonny's cheek. He stared deeply into the green eyes he loved so much. It had taken him the entire afternoon to reach the conclusion that leaving Jonny would be the best decision, but it completely tore him up to do so. "I'd kiss you goodbye if I thought it wouldn't hurt... Bye, Jonny. I'll see you in a few days."

Chris removed his hand, then sadly left. As soon as he heard the door close, Jonny sank to the floor, where he stayed for three hours. All he did was stare across the room. He didn't even cry. He couldn't even cry. There were no tears inside him, just emptiness.

He had always been afraid that something like this would happen one day, but he just figured that when it did happen they would tell everyone and the problem would be solved. Nothing was solved now. Jonny still didn't want other people to know, because he was afraid of the possibility that someone would try to take his happiness away. But it was gone anyway, and it wasn't coming back. Chris wasn't coming back.

Angels

Chapter 1

Chris yawned as he opened the folder on his desk.

"Did everyone get a copy of today's list?" he asked.

Will, Guy and Jonny all nodded.

"Okay," he said, "I guess I will be doing the interviews today."

That was a relief to Guy.

He really disliked interviewing the new arrivals.

Will was good at interviewing.

He could always tell right away when someone was not being completely honest.

Jonny was good at it too, although he was usually the one who passed more people than he should have.

Chris didn't trust anyone and often had to re-interview the new arrivals.

"It looks like a short list today," Will said, reading over the names.

"Yeah," Chris said, laughing,"Not like a few months ago when we had a tornado and a hurricane in the same week."

"Oh no," Jonny spit out his coffee.

"What?" Guy asked.

"Look at number 14," Jonny told them.

"14??? 14?? " Chris was flipping the pages and then he burst out laughing.

"This is too good to be true," he said.

"Do you think it is the same one?" Guy asked.

"It has to be," Will said.

Chris smiled and rubbed his hands together.

"This is going to be fun," he said.

From the corner of his eye, Chris caught sight of Will's disapproving look.

"You know what happened last time," Will told him.

"Yeah," Guy said, "You got us all in trouble for two weeks. We were stuck fluffing the wings of the Senior Angels."

"And I was deathly allergic," Jonny said.

The other three looked at Jonny.

"Oh okay," he said, "I didn't actually mean 'deathly.' I think that ship has come and gone."

"I'll try to behave," Chris told the others.

"It's just that it will be so hard. Here I am interviewing new arrivals or turning them away as such the case may be and my first interview today is Liam Gallagher."

Chris started laughing again.

"You still have to be fair," Will said.

"Oh, I will be," Chris said, "I know my job. But what can it hurt if I make him sweat a little?"

Will just rolled his eyes.

Angels

Chapter 2

Chris was in the interview room twirling around and around in his chair.

He heard the door of the room open.

He was facing the opposite direction from the door when he stopped the whirling chair with his foot.

His back was to the door so that whoever entered could not see his face.

A slight little smirk passed his lips and his large blue eyes twinkled with mischief.

He couldn't help but giggle silently to himself as he thought of Liam standing on the other side of the table.

Just waiting nervously and fidgeting.

"I'll teach him a thing or two," Chris thought, crossing his arms and making no apparent move to turn around.

He heard the scratching noise on the tile floor as a chair was pulled out.

Chris gasped.

He couldn't believe Liam would be so bold....so forward....so rude...

Then he thought again.

"Look who I am talking about," he thought.

He took a deep breath and whirled around forcefully in the chair, ready to make the Gallagher brother suffer.

But Chris was the one that got a surprise.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, when he saw Will.

"I'm here as your assistant," Will said.

"You mean you are here to watch me," Chris whined.

"I am here to make sure you behave,"Will said.

"I don't need a babysitter," Chris said, sliding down into the chair and sticking out his bottom lip.

As he did so, his wings caught on the side of the chair.

He tried to wiggle them loose without Will noticing.

But Will saw what he was doing.

"Let me help you," Will said, walking around the table and shaking loose Chris' left wing.

Little tiny white feathers flew all in Will's face and he sneezed.

"Don't need any help, huh?" Will asked.

Chris rolled his eyes and looked at the clock on the wall.

"He's late," he said, of Liam.

"Well, maybe processing was backed up a little bit today."

"Yeah," Chris said, sarcastically, "Since no one can understand Liam when he speaks...maybe they are still trying to figure out what language he is speaking."

Will looked at him and shook a disapproving finger.

"This is why I was sent to keep an eye on you," he told Chris.

"Fine," Chris said, sitting back and picking up his pencil to doodle on the paper.

"Don't doodle on the official entrance form," Will told him.

"Why not?" Chris asked, "It isn't like he's going to be admitted anyway."

Just then, there was a loud, abrasive knock on the door.

"He's here," Will said, "Behave."

Violent Waters

Chapter 17

“Did you think about what I told you?” he asked. The living room was semi-dark, but Chloe had started a flame in the fireplace, which now filled the area with a warm glow. Jonny and I were sitting close together, our shoulders nearly touching. I sighed and rested my head back against the couch, looking into the fire.

“Yeah.”

“Well?” he pressed, staring at the side of my face. I grimaced under his scrutiny and reached up to touch my earring. I felt like I had gone back in time to when this whole mess had started. Back to the days that I spent at Jonny’s house, doing nothing but trying to absorb the comfort of his presence.

“I understand.”

“You understand...”

“That it’s not my fault,” I said, biting my lip. “I get it.”

“I’m sorry about my shitty mood earlier,” he muttered. “I didn’t mean to be so...wait; hold on. Did you say...that? What I think you said?” He sat up straight and gripped my shoulder, turning me around to face him. “Say it again.”

“It’s...not my fault?”

He looked ecstatic. “That’s what I thought you said! Guy...GUY!” he cried, at a loss for words. In a moment, his countenance changed completely and his eyes began to fill with tears.

“Aw, hell...Jon, don’t cry,” I begged, tugging weakly at his arm.

“I’m not,” he protested, wiping his eyes on his sleeve.

“You know...for a long time I thought it was impossible to make you cry.”

Jonny laughed hoarsely. “So, did Henry help at all?”

“Henry, yeah. He did,” I said slowly, thinking about the psychologist. He had definitely been a huge help; he knew things about how I was feeling that I couldn’t even realize myself. But without my friends, I knew I would have lost the battle long ago. I probably would have killed myself; intentionally or not. “I’d be a lot worse off without you guys. You all listened to me when I needed it...looked after me...” I sighed and rested my chin in my palm. “I still have a hard time believing you don’t hate me for all the crap I did to you.”

“The worst things you did were completely unintentional,” he said reassuringly. “So I completely forgive you.”

“What do you mean ‘unintentional’?”

Jonny seemed a bit hesitant. “The night after it happened, you slept over on that couch, remember?”

“Of course I do. I woke up and found you sitting next to it...” Now I was the one being cautious. “What happened?”

“Nothing really, you just had trouble sleeping.”

“I don’t remember that.”

“I know. It’s because you woke up one or two times during the night, but then you would go back to sleep. When it happened, you just sort of...freaked out. Like someone was trying to hurt you or something. It took me a while to calm you down, and you wouldn’t go to sleep unless I was there. That was a thousand times worse than the bottle thing.”

I wasn’t sure if I should talk about the mysterious nightmare incident or the bottle incident, so I just stayed quiet.

Jonny made a face and shook his head. “I’m sorry for bringing it up. But my point is that...I understand why you did what you did. You shouldn’t dwell on it.”

“But, J-”

“Come on, Guy. Stop that. I forgive you, yeah?”

I nodded. “Okay. But, um...will you do something for me?”

“What is it?”

“I need another scoop of ice cream,” I said, pushing my bowl across the coffee table. “Preferably the chocolate peanut butter kind.”

“Oh, what? What?”

“Up, big man,” I whined, pushing against his arm. “Get me ice cream.”

Jonny laughed, his shoulders shaking with mirth. “Why don’t you move your skinny ass and get it yourself?”

“I’m tired,” I said, grinning. Some lightheartedness was all I needed to feel a bit better. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel so terrible. The physical pain and mental suffering that came along with depression weren’t so strong anymore.

“Okay, okay. I’ll get you the ice cream,” said Jonny, pushing himself up. He pulled up his jeans a bit before he reached forward to take my bowl. “Do you want some whipped cream on it? Rainbow sprinkles maybe?” he teased.

“Yeah, if you’ve got ‘em,” I chuckled. “Thanks, dad.”

Jonny rolled his eyes and nudged me in the hip with his sneaker. “You’re a bigger diva than Chris is,” he said as he walked into the kitchen.

I laughed.

Sorry, I don't know what the British call sprinkles.

The main reason I made this is because I believe Mr.Phillip Harvey deserves his own fanfic.

Sure he may make a little appearance to get the boys of their asses, but I think he deserves a little more.

*Emma's PoV*

"Wake up, love." A sweet, voice called. I felt his nimble fingers run through my hair. He musn't have known that I was awake. I tossed onto my side and faced the window, finding Phil on his knees by the side of our bed.

I sat up, and he leaned over me for a kiss. The sunlight from the nearby window shined over him as if he was an angel. He was my angel. I wrapped my arms around him and our lips gently touched.

"I'll start making breakfast," I planted a kiss on his rosey cheek and headed towards the kitchen

-----

I flipped a pancake onto his plate. "Emma, will you be home this evening?" I poured some orange juice into a glass as

"Of course I will," I passed him his plate and he placed it in front of him along with his glass of orange juice, and I sat across from he. "Why do you ask?"

I saw him laugh softly. "Oh, no reason." He looked up at the ceiling. "Just wanted to see if we could get a little dinner together." He smiled as he took a sip of his juice and leaned back in his chair.

"Oh," I said with a smile. "That sounds nice." I said as I took another bite of my pancake.

I placed my plate and my utensils into the sink and so did he. "It does, doesn't it?" Phil asked as he placed his warm hands on my hips and kissed along my neck. It made my back pain escape me.

"I'll see you after work, I'm going to be home around 6 to pick you up, alright?"

"Yeah," I replied as he tore his hands from my hips.

He picked his coat up from the rack and slipped it on. "I love you," he said as he kissed me dearly on the lips and picked up the car keys as he did.

"I love you too, honey." I said as our lips seperated and he slipped out the apartment doorway.

I sighed. I missed him already.

Tired

Part 2

Chris, Guy, and Jonny were sitting in the Bakery, waiting for Will. Jonny was strumming a few notes on his guitar, Chris was writing in a notebook, and Guy was pestering Chris.

"What's that?" Guy asked, pointing at the paper. "Did you write anything new?"

"It's nothing," Chris replied, still scribbling away.

"Oh, come on, let me see!" Guy snatched the notebook from Chris' hands, and started flipping through the pages. After a dozen or so, he stopped and looked up at Chris tiredly. "All this says is 'You ripped my heart out' over and over... and over."

"I told you it was nothing," Chris mumbled. Guy continued to search the notebook.

"Chris, there's, like, eighty pages of this shit! Killing trees much? I thought you cared about the environment."

"I do, I've just been feeling depressed."

"Yeah, I'll say." Suddenly, there was a crash from Jonny's direction. Guy and Chris looked over at him to see that he'd dropped his guitar. "Jon, are you OK?"

"Um... yeah," Jonny replied, picking up the fallen instrument. "I guess it just slipped out of my hands."

"Isn't that what they put straps on the guitars for?"

"I suppose," Jonny sheepishly said, lowering his head in embarrassment. Guy turned back to Chris and threw the notebook at him.

"Well, anyway, depressed or not, can't you write more than just that one line?"

"I guess I could try," Chris said, opening to a blank page. "How about this? You ripped my heart out... I'm bleeding everywhere..." He paused and looked at Jonny, who had gone back to quietly strumming his guitar. "But I look at you, I can see you still care."

"I would have to say that's brilliant. You're a genius, you know that?" Guy asked, patting Chris on the back.

"No, I'm not."

"Why are you depressed?" Guy asked in a much more serious tone.

"You know me, I go through mood swings all the time," Chris half-heartedly smiled. "I'm sure I'll be fine in a few days."

He kept telling himself that. A few days, and everything would be better. The pain would go away. And he did what he had to do. It hurt to be with Jonny, too, and to have to hide it. If he didn't have to worry about that, then life would be much simpler.

Deep down, though, he knew he was just lying to himself. Every single day he would be tortured by the fact that he couldn't express his feelings for Jonny in front of other people, but at the end of the day he belonged to Jonny, and that was enough to make him forget. Without Jonny, the pain was worse, and there was nothing to make him forget.

Chapter 3

Will pointed a warning finger at Chris as he stood up to open the door.

Liam was standing on the other side, looking around.

"Hello," Will said, "Please come in and sit down."

Liam looked Will up and down and frowned.

Then he pushed him back a little and strutted through the door.

He walked over to the table, yanked a chair out, making a horrific scraping noise and dropped into it with a thud.

"Waskjsjdfii assfjalkjls asdfjasj," he said.

Chris looked at Will.

Will shrugged his shoulders.

"It wasn't your turn to talk yet," Chris said, slapping him across the knuckles with a ruler.

"Tahhasfsd asjflsaj asfsla!" Liam yelled.

Chris looked at Will.

Again Will shrugged his shoulders.

"Could you speak in English?" Chris asked.

"Jskfsdfas asfasf," Liam said.

Chris rubbed a graceful, hand across his beautiful eyes.

"Maybe you could just write your answers," he told Liam.

Will, leaning against the wall, gave Chris a thumbs-up sign.

"That sounds like a great idea," he said.

Liam stared blankly at Chris.

Chris slid a blank sheet of paper and a pencil across the table to Liam.

"Okay," he said, "First question, Why did you feel it necessary to constantly insult new bands instead of being supportive?"

Will cleared his throat and Chris looked at him.

Will was shaking his head, "No."

Chris took a deep breath.

"Okay," he said, "Moving on to question number 2--Why must you and your brother use such foul language all the time. An occassional word is one thing but it seems that is all you know."

Liam shot Chris the bird.

Then he wrote something on the paper.

"Question 3," Chris said, "Everyone knows how influential your band was in the beginning....why have you sunk so low?"

Liam wrote furiously.

"Question 4," Chris said, "Why do you think you deserve to be here and how far are you willing to go to prove your worth?"

Liam looked at Chris.

He wrinkled up the paper and threw it at Chris, hitting him right in the center of the forehead.

"Gfkdkgjdjf!!!" he yelled as he stood up, knocking the chair over, and walked out of the room.

Chris patiently straightened the paper out.

"What did he write?" Will asked.

Chris turned the paper around so that Will could see.

Will burst out laughing.

"He writes just like he talks," Chris said.

The answers were all indecipherable.

Chris picked up a rubber stamp from his neat little pile of office supplies on his table.

He stamped the paper with a big red stamp that said "REJECTED."

*Phil's PoV*

Me and Emma walked out of the restaraunt, hand in hand as we strolled down the side walk on our way home. I felt her lips press onto my cheek and her warm breath, but she quickly pulled away from me and looked down at her feet, though. She looked troubled.

"What's the matter?" I asked as we slowly came to a stop.

"Phil, I have to tell you something."

"You can tell me anything." She squeezed my hand tightly.

At first she didn't look me in the eyes, "I'm Pregnant." but then I could see nothing else.

"Wait... what?" I asked as the streets spinned around me.

I felt Emma's hand pull me towards a nearby bench and she helped me sit down.

"Listen, I'm sorry you weren't expecting this, but I had to tell you sometime, I couldn't hide it from you anymore. It was killing me." I had so many questions to ask her but I stayed silent, "Your the father and that means you deserve to know just as much as I do."

I was so shocked I didn't know how to feel. I've never had a child before and I wasn't planning one having one anytime soon.

"How long have you known?" I asked.

"Somewhere around a week." she replied, "Maybe less."

Words couldn't describe how I felt or what I thought and I could only tell you what I knew; I was going to be a father.

Chapter 4

"Aren't you ready yet?" Jonny asked.

Guy was standing in front of the mirror.

"I can't get this one section of feathers to fluff out," Guy said.

He looked at Jonny.

"Did you even brush yours?" he asked.

Jonny shrugged.

"I might have run a comb over them," he said, shoving his hands into his pockets.

"Where are Chris and Will? Guy asked.

"They were on the set-up committee, remember? They already went down to the ballroom."

"That's right," Guy said, snapping his fingers, "I forgot. These meet and greet things always make me so nervous."

"I don't see why," Jonny said, "You usually cut out after about fifteen minutes anyway."

Guy blushed a little.

"I got in trouble for that too," he admitted, "I was told I had to stay for the entire program from now on."

Jonny made a face.

"I bet that will be miserable for you, huh?" he said.

"Indeed," Guy answered.

Guy was standing, backed into a corner as usual.

This was an unusually large group of new admitees with all the natural disasters of late.

He felt terrified and invisible and yet, completely exposed at the same time.

He decided to wander toward the refreshment table and fill up his glass with water.

It always made him feel less conspicuous if he was drinking or eating.

"Hi," a voice said, behind him as he was filling his glass.

Guy turned around to see a pretty young dark-haired woman.

"Hello," he stammered nervously.

"My name is Brooke," she told him with a smile.

"I am Guy," he said, "I am an angel."

She looked him up and down.

"I'll say you are," she said, "But I am a trainee."

Guy blushed and told her, "You won't be a trainee for long, I'm sure."

"What makes you say that?" she asked.

"You have very bright eyes. It is easy to see that you are very intelligent and probably have a good sense of humor," he told her.

"Thank you," she said.

"Can I feel your wings?" she asked.

Guy shrugged.

"Sure," he said, turning a bit to one side.

She ran her hands up and down the snow white feathers.

"Amazing," she said, looking at Guy.

"You'll have yours in no time," he told her with a cute little wink.
